Abstract: This tubular joint includes a bell end (4) which is equipped with an internal groove (18) and in which is inserted a spigot end (6), a seal (8) and a locking element (12). The groove forms a groove wall (20). The spigot end (6) and the bell end (4) define a radial clearance (J). The locking element (12) includes a fixing tooth (36) and a contact face (28) for application against the wall (20) when the clearance (J) is within a first range of clearances. When the clearance is within a second range of clearances, the locking element (12) forms a rocking point (34) for rocking round the groove wall (20) and the fixing tooth (36) bites into the external surface (22) by a flying buttress effect of the locking element (12).

  • Publication number: 20060157941
Abstract: The invention relates to an annular seal used for the telescopic mounting of a male end (10) of a first tubular element (1) in a socket (20) of a second tubular element (2). Said seal comprises an elastically-deformable annular body (3) designed to be threaded around the outer surface of the male end (10) and an anchoring lug (4) that only extends over part of the length of the body projecting radially around the latter and designed to be housed in an anchoring groove (25) disposed in the inner surface of the socket. At least one part of the lug (4) is made from a reinforcing material having a hardness greater than that of the body (3). Said seal is characterised in that the reinforcing material is located radially at a distance from the inner surface (32) of the body (3). Use: water supply and disposal networks.

  • Patent number: 6533332
Abstract: The coupling includes a peripheral locking gasket for the pipe, the gasket being elastically deformable from a state in which it has a nominal inside diameter; an outer clamping ring placed on the end of the pipework element and surrounding the gasket; and a mechanism for thrusting the clamping ring axially towards the pipework element. The coupling has a spacer for holding the gasket spaced apart with an inside diameter greater than its nominal diameter before the pipe is put into place, the spacer being releasable once the pipe is in place.

  • Patent number: 6220635
Abstract: A device 7 for the assembly of a straight spigot 1 and a flange 3 of two pipe elements 2, 4, containing an axial compression sealing elastomer gasket 8. The gasket has a support body 15 bearing against a counter flange 11 to apply pressure to the gasket. To the front of the body 15, and interdependent of it, is a support heel 16 for bearing against the flange. A radial exterior surface 22 of the body is designed to rest on a reaction surface 27, 27a of the counter flange, a radial interior surface 18 of the body is designed to rest on the radial exterior surface 20 of the straight spigot, and a forward surface 31 of the heel is designed to press against the flange to insure the waterproofness of the assembly. The body has at least one recess 26 for the expansion of the elastomer of the pressurized gasket, and the device is fitted with a ring 9 to limit the radial expansion of the heel toward the exterior.

  • Patent number: 4303262
Abstract: A large diameter pipe joint in which the male end and the female mouth end have respective opposite load bearing surfaces 5, 22 between which are arranged bracing means capable of evenly distributing tensile forces over the whole periphery of the joint by means of an incompressible mass 27 of an initially fluid filler material. The mass is contained in a space sufficiently closed on all sides by an annular component 23 disposed between the two support surfaces 5, 22 to be impermeable to said filler material. This joint is particularly suitable for large diameter pipes laid in trenches, where the axes of adjacent pipe sections lie at a small acute angle to each other after installation.
