Abstract: A casing for containing apparatus which in use generates heat, the casing including a heat exchanger arranged to act as a removable wall (preferably a lid) of the casing, and fluid directing means arranged to be on the exterior of the said removable wall for directing a heat transfer fluid in thermal contact with the said wall in use, such that heat generated in the interior of the casing is transferred to the heat transfer fluid by conduction through the material of the said wall.

Abstract: A fiber optic splice closure includes a housing, a support within the housing, at least one splice organizer pivotally connected to the support, and a slack storage holder pivotally connected to the support. The support may be connected to an interior of a first housing portion adjacent end thereof. The support preferably includes portions defining a plurality of pivotal mounting locations. The slack storage holder is pivotally connected at a first pivotal mounting location of the support and is pivotally movable between a stored position and a raised position. The slack storage holder when in the stored position is preferably generally parallel to and in spaced apart relation from adjacent interior portions of the first housing portion. Accordingly, the slack storage holder thus preferably defines a fiber routing area with adjacent housing portions. The slack storage holder can be moved to the raised position facilitating access to the fiber routing area.

Abstract: A kit of parts for closing an end of a duct having a polygonal internal cross-section comprises: (a) a sealing member that can be inserted into the duct to form a seal therewith; and (b) a device that can be inserted into the duct to provide sealing material therein, comprising a support and sealing material located on the support. The device is shaped such that at least some of the sealing material of the device is located at the corners of a polygon, to form a seal, in use, between the sealing member and an internal surface of the duct at each corner of the polygonal internal cross-section thereof.

Abstract: A method of sealing a duct having a non-uniform cross-section which comprises:(i) positioning within the duct a device for locating a sealing material at a localized portion of an inner surface of the duct, at the non-uniformity; and(ii) positioning within the duct a sealing member than can at least partially block a cross-section of the duct such that the sealing material forms a seal between a portion of the duct and a portion of the sealing member.
