Abstract: In at least some implementations, a method for monitoring a fluid injection system that has a fluid pump activated by a coil and a controller adapted to drive the coil with a driving voltage includes monitoring the evolution of current flowing through the coil and the evolution of the time derivative of said current, and monitoring two successive zero crossings of the time derivative of the current flowing through the coil. The method provides an easy and cost-efficient way to discriminate various operating states of a fluid injection system including a coil/solenoid driven pump.
