  • Patent number: 4537205
Abstract: A cutting edge is provided of the type which are rotated about an axis perpendicular to the endless cigarette roll to be cut, at a tangential speed equal to the travelling speed of the tobacco roll, and which are constantly maintained parallel to each other. They each comprise a fork in which is engaged a roller rotated at the same speed as it about an axis parallel to its own axis, the plane formed by the axes of rotation about themselves of the roller and of the cutting guide remaining constantly parallel to the fixed plane containing the axes about which they rotate respectively.

  • Patent number: 4261236
Abstract: This device for causing elongated cylindrical objects such as cigarettes delivered in the form of a continuous line to penetrate successive recesses formed in a rotary drum is of the type wherein a transfer device is interposed for accelerating the velocity of translation of the cigarettes in order to separate them from one another while imparting thereto a transverse velocity equal to the peripheral velocity of the drum recesses; this transfer device comprises a single vertical cam of which the operative portion engages the cigarette moving past underneath, when the leading end of the cigarette penetrates into a corresponding recess of the drum. The combined action of the cam and drum cause the cigarette to move transversely and parallel to itself.

  • Patent number: 4248113
Abstract: This cutter guide drive mechanism for cigarette-making machine is of the type wherein the cutter guide member is kept constantly parallel to itself while being rotatably driven at a tangential velocity equal to the linear velocity of the tobacco rod. The complete mechanism is housed in an oil-tight case consisting of one of the component elements of the cutter guide drive, whereby the mechanism is efficiently protected and can also be properly lubricated from inside.

  • Patent number: 4211318
Abstract: This rotary plate is of the type comprising reversal heads capable of rotating through half a revolution during a complete revolution of the plate in the opposite direction, with a view to taking up an object such as a filter-tipped cigarette and placing such an object or cigarette after having caused it to rotate through half a revolution. Each of the reversal heads 13a effects, in relation to plate 13, no other movement but its rotation, axis Za of this rotation forming with rotational axis Z of plate 13 an angle .alpha. whose tangent is greater than the ratio d/.DELTA. of the diameter d of the objects or cigarettes to be reversed to the distance .DELTA. separating the rotational axes of two adjacent heads.

  • Patent number: 4189045
Abstract: This device for longitudinally-moving rod-like cylindrical objects in a transversal direction, notably for transferring cigarettes issuing in end-to-end relationship and in-line from a cigarette making machine to a conveyor drum formed with spaced peripheral grooves each adapted to receive a cigarette comprises a pair of cams adapted to off set the leading cigarette and to accelerate same as required for causing the cigarette to penetrate accurately into the corresponding groove of the drum while avoiding any detrimental contact between the cigarette and the walls of the groove. The velocity of rotation of the cams expressed in number of r.p.m. is equal to the number of cigarette delivered by the cigarette making machine.
