  • Patent number: 10974427
Abstract: A method for producing a part consisting of a polymer material involves injection-moulding said polymer material in a mould comprising a main section for forming the part and an additional section for forming an add-on for the part. The additional section is arranged between the injection point and the main section. The part and the add-on are separated by cutting.

    Assignee: Compagnie Plastic Omnium
Inventors: Jean-Yves Demange, David Tresse, Jérôme Brizin
  • Patent number: 10427386
Abstract: The present invention provides a semi-product made of a prepreg, a three-dimensional preform and an overmolded part. More particularly, the present invention provides a semi-product made of a prepreg, including at least a first prepreg layer and a second prepreg layer, characterized in that a magnetic material layer is laid between the first prepreg layer and the second prepreg layer. Since the magnetic material layer is added between the prepreg layers, the produced semi-product, when being made into a three-dimensional preform and further into an overmolded part, can be well supported and positioned due to attraction to the magnetic material layer by the magnet on the die, and therefore be precisely shaped.

  • Patent number: 10059177
Abstract: The present invention relates to a structural component for motor vehicle closing part and a motor vehicle closing part including the component. The structural component includes a main body at least partially made of a first plastic and a strengthening portion with mechanical strength higher than that of the main body, characterized in that the strengthening portion is at least partially made of a second reinforced plastic and is integrally molded with the main body, and the mechanical strength of the second reinforced plastic is higher than that of the first plastic. With this structural component, the use of metal reinforcements can be reduced or even completely omitted, thereby achieving the purpose of reducing the weight of the closing part and hence saving cost.

Since the metal layer is added between the prepreg layers, the three-dimensional preform made of the semi-product can be supported by the metal layer during a reheating process prior to overmolding, thereby well maintaining its three-dimensional shape without collapsing. In addition, since the added metal layer is retained in a final overmolded product, it can enhance mechanical strength of the product and serve as a supplementary reinforcement.
