  • Patent number: 9091008
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for assembling, by means of sewing, two ends (2, 3) of a conveyor belt (1) consisting of a carcass (4) and a covering (5), said method including the following steps: preparing the ends so as to impart a suitable shape thereto; depositing the covering over a predetermined length of each of the ends; sewing, along a predetermined sewing field, in order to assemble the two carcasses; and positioning a covering so as to cover the seam. The ends of said belt to be assembled have a toothed or staggered shape.

    Assignee: COBRA EUROPE
Inventors: Herve Mathieu, Daniel Roessner, Jean-Yves Drean, Jean-Francois Osselin
  • Patent number: 8887553
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for determining the inter-fiber frictional coefficient of staple fibers. The apparatus comprises a pair of clamps, one fixed and the other mobile wherein, each clamp receives an end portion of a sliver therewithin. The apparatus further comprises a pair of predetermined weights, each mounted over a clamp in order to exert normal force on either end of the sliver whereby the movement of the sliver within the clamps is resisted as the mobile clamp is moves away from the fixed clamp until the sliver is severed off, a force sensor for sensing the tensile force exerted by the sliver, and a means for computing the inter-fiber frictional coefficient, which is a function of the normal force and the amount of tensile force exerted by the sliver which overcomes the inter-fiber frictional force of the sliver.

  • Patent number: 4843879
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and an apparatus for quality control of textile threads, and particularly of threads produced by different spinning methods. The apparatus comprises a housing (10) containing two measurement modules. A first module comprises a double condenser (32) and its associated electronic circuit to determine uniformity of linear mass of the thread, a precision scale (31) to determine linear mass and a drive means (33). The second module comprises a device (34) and a device (37) which cooperate to determine twist and elastic recovery of the thread. A manipulator (17) allows automatic positioning of the test pieces of thread (46) admitted into the apparatus through flexible tubes (16). The apparatus offers the advantage of permitting a series of measurements to be taken and computer processed for purposes of statistical compilation and/or memory storage.
