  • Patent number: 4421609
Abstract: Electrode comprising a body, with a conductive porous skeleton, and a current outlet. The current outlet comprises a conductive plate with roughnesses which penetrate into the skeleton. The plate is rigidly connected to the skeleton by means of an electrolytic metal deposit.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 15, 1982
Date of Patent: December 20, 1983
Assignee: Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin
    Inventors: Francois Gerard, Jean-Yves Machat
  • Patent number: 4409304
Abstract: An electrochemical device comprising at least two cells with electrodes in the form of plates is characterized by the following features:(a) each plate is joined on at least one side to a current outlet which in turn is joined to an electron-conductive extension;(b) the extension abuts at a terminal or, at least in part, constitutes a terminal;(c) the electrical junction between each plate and its outlet is effected substantially over the entire corresponding side of the plate;(d) each outlet and the corresponding extension form an assembly; the distance between the extreme edges of this assembly is substantially equal to the length of the corresponding side of said plate, these extreme edges abutting at said plate;(e) the two cells are connected in electrical series by at least two terminals; the electrical junction between these two terminals is effected substantially over said entire distance between extreme edges in the case of each extension which abuts at one of these terminals or which, at least in par

  • Patent number: 4283466
Abstract: A process for carrying out chemical and/or electrochemical reactions in a reaction chamber traversed by a suspension of particles in a fluid is improved due to the fact that the suspension emerging from the chamber is separated into two fractions: a "concentrated fraction" comprising the greater part or all of the particles and a "fluid fraction" comprising the greater part or all of the fluid. The "fluid fraction" is introduced into a reservoir. A flow of the fluid from the reservoir is combined with the "concentrated fraction" in order to form a suspension, which is then introduced into the reaction chamber.

  • Patent number: 4239979
Abstract: Contactor comprising at least two fixed studs, at least one movable stud capable of making or breaking an electric contact between the two fixed studs, and at least one membrane which can deform under the action of a fluid. The movable stud is fastened to the membrane in such a manner that the movable stud is isolated from the two fixed studs in position of rest. The contactor is characterized by the fact that the membrane comprises the following two parts:(a) at least one substantially nondeformable base to which the movable stud is fastened; and(b) flanks which are elastic with respect to the base and firmly attached to the base, the deformation of the membrane being obtained substantially solely by stretching of the flanks, this deformation causing a displacement of the base and therefore a displacement of the movable stud.

  • Patent number: 4214711
Abstract: An erosion device comprising at least one head and means for imparting to the head movements of rotation around an axis and of translation along said axis is improved due to the fact that:(a) the head comprises knives each having several teeth; on each knife two adjacent teeth are spaced apart from each other and leading edges of the teeth and their virtual extensions form a practically continuous line, called line of attack;(b) the teeth being capable of digging grooves in a material to be eroded, the groove corresponding to each tooth having a portion in common with at least one groove corresponding to a tooth of an adjacent knife.
