Abstract: A door handle assembly includes an interior chassis, an exterior chassis, and an alignment guide. The interior chassis includes an interior trim portion, an interior handle mount rotatably attached to the interior trim portion, and an interior spindle portion rotatable with the interior handle mount. The exterior chassis includes an exterior trim portion, an exterior handle mount rotatably attached to the exterior trim portion, an exterior spindle portion rotatable with the exterior handle mount and axially aligned with the interior handle mount, and a mounting post extending toward the interior chassis from the exterior trim portion offset from the exterior spindle portion. The alignment guide is removably attached to the interior trim portion and is formed of a resilient material. The alignment guide extends toward the exterior chassis from the interior chassis and includes an aperture aligned to receive the mounting post.

Abstract: A latch assembly for insertion into an edge of a door and adjustable for actuation by a half-round spindle at either a first backset or a second backset. The latch has an inner casing non-rotatably received within an outer casing and slideable along an axis. The inner casing is provided with a transverse void substantially perpendicular to the sliding axis and is slideable between a first position in which the transverse void is aligned at the first backset and a second position is which the transverse void is aligned at the second backset. A slide within the casing is, without adjustment, engageable by the half-round spindle at either backset. A cam is rotatably mounted within the casing and engaged to the slide and to a bolt also within the casing. The bolt is slideably retractable into the casing by rotation of the cam in response to sliding of the slide. A spring biases the bolt to an extended position extend out from the casing.

Apertures on the first and second members can be aligned to receive the connecting pin and thereby determine the length of the turn piece.

Abstract: An interconnected chassis includes a mounting plate including a spring engaging tab. A cover plate includes a recessed spring retention wall. A lower cam has a lower pivot axis. An upper cam has an upper pivot axis. A slide plate is positioned between the mounting plate and the cover plate, the slide plate having a spring retention slot and a spring support ledge. The slide plate includes a first end having a pivot feature and a second end having a lower cam engagement member for engaging the lower cam. A spring is positioned in the spring retention slot of the slide plate and in the recessed spring retention wall of the cover plate, and between the spring engaging tab of the mounting plate and the spring support ledge of the slide plate. A toggle is pivotably coupled to the slide plate by the pivot feature, the toggle having a head portion positioned to engage the upper cam.
