Publication number: 20240100296Abstract: A package for a medical device such as an intermittent catheter has a case and a cap connected by threads. The case includes a hollow tube which is closed at one end and open at the other. A shoulder is formed near one end of the case. Above the shoulder is a cylindrical ferrule that includes external threads. The cap has internal threads selectably engageable with the threads on the ferrule to form a liquid-tight seal between the cap and case when the cap is installed on the case.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Daniel E. O'Brien, Vincent Naughton, Martin McMenamin, Joseph N. Hanley, David A. Knauz, Martin P. Creaven, Stephen Collum, Jeanne E. Lee, Siobhan Duffy, Marine Veronique Germaine Richard, Eugene Canavan, Daniel A. March

Publication number: 20240058569Abstract: A package for a medical device such as an intermittent catheter has a case which is closed at one end and open at the other end. A cap is connected to the case by a hinge to permit selectable movement of the cap between an open position, wherein access is provided to the open end of the case, and a closed position, wherein the cap prevents access to the open end of the case. A seal is connected to one of the cap and case. The seal is engageable with the other of the cap and case when the cap is closed to form a barrier that maintains a sterile environment inside the package. The seal can be repeatedly made and broken whenever the user closes or opens the cap, respectively. The case includes a pair of slots at the open end. A pair of latches are formed in the cap. The latches fit into the slots to prevent lateral forces from distorting the cap when the cap is closed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 30, 2023Publication date: February 22, 2024Inventors: Martin McMenamin, Daniel E. O'Brien, Vincent Naughton, Joseph N. Hanley, David A. Knauz, Martin P. Creaven, Stephen Collum, Jeanne E. Lee, Siobhan Duffy, Marine Veronique Germaine Richard, Eugene Canavan, Scott J. Patent number: 11383021Abstract: A trans-anal irrigation (TAI) device has a pump base unit, an irrigation fluid reservoir, a wireless electronic controller, fluid tubing, and a disposable rectal catheter in fluid communication with the tubing. The rectal catheter has a retention balloon and a waste control valve. The fluid tubing contains two or three separate lumens for irrigation fluid and retention balloon inflation/deflation and optionally for waste control valve actuation. None of the lumens ever communicates with any other lumen. A hydraulic control circuit has a pump that pumps in one direction only but, with suitable control valves, is able to pump water to and from the retention balloon and to and from an optional waste control valve. A water temperature sensor is mounted in the pump base unit at a thin-wall section. The temperature sensor sends a signal to a controller which provides an indication of whether the water temperature is suitable for use.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2017Date of Patent: July 12, 2022Assignee: Hollister IncorporatedInventors: Jerome A. Henry, William K. Arnold, Donald V. Matesi, Mary L. Glennon, Denise Gamblin, Christina Augustyn, Jeanne E. Lee, Colin Conlon, Stephen King, Martin Bruggemann, Mark Liddle, Malford E. Cullum
