  • Publication number: 20080302810
Abstract: A mounting assembly for mounting a roll of sheet material having a central cylindrical opening in a dispenser for dispensing sections of the sheet material. The dispenser (10) is one of a type having a housing with a main plate (27) and a cover (14). The mounting assembly comprises a bung (30) having a tubular body (35) with a plurality of outwardly projecting ribs (34) operative to tightly engage an interior cylindrical surface of the roll of sheet material. A short cylindrical portion (32) of the bung is frangibly connected to the tubular body. A bung receptacle (16) is mounted on one of the main plate and the cover for receiving and retaining the short tubular portion in sliding engagement. A conical roll engagement element (20, 22) is mounted on another of the main plate and the cover operative to slidably engage an end of the central cylindrical opening of the roll of sheet material opposite to an end into which the bung is inserted.

  • Patent number: 6749149
Abstract: A support arm for supporting a paper towel roll, having selected openings in one end, in a paper towel dispenser, and having a dispenser engaging arm portion, a cylindrical portion affixed to the arm portion, and an outer sleeve abutting a first side of the cylindrical portion. An inner sleeve slidably engages a second side of the cylindrical portion. An interconnecting structure interconnects the inner and outer sleeves and is insertable into the selected openings in the end of the paper towel.

  • Publication number: 20040108406
Abstract: A paper towel dispenser having a drive mechanism, comprising a bi-directional gear and a drive roller, which is activated by a lever and/or button. As the lever is depressed by a user the bi-directional gear of the drive mechanism is engaged and a length of paper towel is dispensed. When the user releases the lever, the bi-directional gear is returned to its start position by a spring. On the return stroke the spring drives the bi-directional gear and dispenses an additional length of paper towel.

  • Patent number: 6510964
Abstract: The invention consists of a paper towel dispenser for dispensing individual sheets of paper towels from a roll of paper having regularly spaced apart lines of partial severance. The dispenser is comprised of a housing and a housing door which can be pivotally opened to allow a roll of sheet material to be inserted into the dispenser. The dispenser has a funnel-shaped exit to allow the end of the roll to protrude in order to be grasped by the user. A paper towel tearing member is located adjacent to the exit aperture of said funnel and the opening of this member is adjustable in order to vary the size of the opening of the dispenser. This adjustment of the exit size creates an adjustment in the position at which the sheet tears away from the roll to allow the use of different types of sheet material in a single dispenser.

  • Patent number: 5592798
Abstract: A spacer for use in forming a wall of glass blocks which includes a pair of parallel elongated first arms, a pair of parallel elongated second arms, with each of the second arms being perpendicular to a corresponding one of the first arms so as to form a pair of spaced apart crossed arms. An elongated connecting bar interconnects to the crossed arms a plate positioned parallel to each of said crossed arms. A frangible coupling affixes each of the plates to a corresponding one of the crossed arms and an elongated vane element extends out from and across the plates and passes through a notional line through a center of each of the frangible couplings so that a user may grip and twist the vane element so as to impart a torque about the notional line which shears an associated frangible coupling at its joint with an associated one of the crossed arms without imparting any translational force to the spacer.
