Publication number: 20100282352Abstract: A clear plastic member is formed to provide channels to contain service cords and utilities. The center channel most generally will contain the power cord. The channels on each side of the center channel are of smaller cross section and may include data, communication, and utility applications in any combination. Central and part of the extruded member is a cavity that transverses the entire top area of the member. The application of this cavity is to encapsulate a pattern representative of the floor, wall, veiling, or desk that the device is being mounted to, or this cavity could also contain graphical details including the logo of the company, legends, and other customized details to provide complimentary graphical details with the power, communication, data, or utility services.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 6, 2010Publication date: November 11, 2010Inventors: H. Winston Maue, Jeff A. Kempf, Terri L. Tahnoose, Assi Grossman

Publication number: 20090001792Abstract: A vehicle seat 10 is disclosed with a seatback frame 18 and an actuator 20 for supporting an occupant. A head restraint 16 extends from the seatback frame 18 for supporting the head of the occupant. The head restraint 16 is movable from a rest position 24 to a deployed position 26. In one embodiment, a two-bar mechanism 22 is housed partially within the head restraint 16. A linkage 30 extends between the mechanism 22 and the actuator 20. When the actuator 20 receives an input force from the occupant in response to an impact, the linkage 30 actuates the head restraint 16 to the deployed position by cooperative movement of the two-bar mechanism 22.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2007Publication date: January 1, 2009Applicant: LEAR CORPORATIONInventors: Alan Sturt, Mark S. Patent number: 7280126Abstract: Apparatus for converting orthogonal data to a format suitable for displaying the image on a diamond-shaped pixel array. A stream of digital data formatted for being displayed on an orthogonal pixel array is received at an IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) filter. The digital data stream is conditioned so that it can be sub-sampled and used on a diamond-shaped pixel array with minimal distortion. The sub-sampling comprises dropping even pixels in odd numbered orthogonal rows and dropping odd pixels on all even numbered rows. A tap is included at the IIR filter for providing a partially filtered version of the data stream to circuitry for reducing “ringing” of the image. The circuitry also detects edges in the image and emphasizes vertical transitions when a vertical edge is detected and emphasizes horizontal transitions when a vertical edge is not detected.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2003Date of Patent: October 9, 2007Assignee: Texas Instruments IncorporatedInventor: Jeff Kempf

Publication number: 20070132296Abstract: A folding seat system includes a lower seat portion and a seat back pivotally coupled thereto such that the seat back collapses towards the lower seat portion and opens away from the lower seat portion. Coupled to the seat back is a lumbar support basket including an upper pivot rod pivotally coupled widthwise across the seat back and a lower push rod generally parallel to the pivot rod. The lumbar support basket extends outwardly when the push rod moves upwardly in response to engaging a platform on the lower seat portion and flattens when the push rod moves downwardly in response to disengaging the platform.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2005Publication date: June 14, 2007Applicant: LEAR CORPORATIONInventors: Alan Sturt, Jeff Kempf, Christopher Armbruster

Publication number: 20050189459Abstract: A holder for supporting an object in a vehicle includes a first support member. A second support member is movably mounted on the first support member about an axis. Each of a plurality of adjusting members define a contact surface for laterally supporting an object and has a first end movably connected to the first support member and a second end movably connected to the second support member. The adjusting members are substantially coplanar and transverse to the axis. Movement of the second support member relative to the first support member causes the adjusting member to move relative to both the first and the second support members.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 26, 2004Publication date: September 1, 2005Inventors: Alan Sturt, Jeff Kempf
