  • Patent number: 11060490
Abstract: In one example, an air intake system is provided. The air intake system includes a first air inlet duct providing intake air to an engine intake conduit, the first air inlet duct including an opening positioned external to an engine compartment. The air intake system also includes a second air inlet duct positioned upstream of the engine intake conduit and external to the engine compartment, the second air inlet duct including a porous material spanning an opening in the second air inlet duct, the porous material having a plurality of defined openings sized to prevent snow from traveling therethrough and collect on the porous material thereby impeding airflow through the second air inlet duct during snowy and icy conditions.

  • Patent number: 10926720
Abstract: A vibration damping assembly for use with an automotive vehicle is provided. The assembly includes a bracket having a C-shaped receptacle, a component such as an air cleaner housing having an integrally-formed, grommet-holding cylindrical post extending therefrom attached to the bracket, and a spool-shaped isolator mounting grommet attached to the post. The post includes a proximal end integrally attached to the component and a distal end. The distal end includes at least one integrally-formed retention barb and preferably includes two spaced-apart and integrally-formed barbs. The post includes an attachment end attached to the component and an unattached end opposite the attachment end. The barbs are formed on the unattached end. Each barb includes an upper edge extending beyond the unattached end of the post. Each barb includes a ramped, grommet-passing surface. The spool-shaped isolator mounting grommet may be formed from materials such as TPO, TPE, AEM, ECO, and EPDM.

  • Publication number: 20060086564
Abstract: A resonator for attenuating pressure pulses is provided. The resonator includes a housing, a divider, a first neck, and a second neck. Walls of the housing form a cavity with a first and second opening. The divider is located in the cavity and cooperates with the housing to form a first and second chamber. The divider is rotatable to change the volume of the first and second chamber. The first neck is located between the first opening and the first chamber, and the second neck is located between the second opening and the second chamber.
