Patent number: 8762179Abstract: An insurance enrollment and underwriting method includes providing a first user interface with one or more controls for enabling a user to specify one or more health conditions in an enrollment application for pet health insurance. Data representing one or more health conditions specified through the first user interface is received. That data is electronically processed. Each condition is electronically flagged as a condition that is acceptable, precluded, or for manual review. A dollar limit of coverage for each of a plurality of diagnoses in lieu of one or more exclusions is calculated. The plurality of diagnoses include one or more diagnoses related to one or more of the health conditions. Where all conditions are and flagged as acceptable or determined to be acceptable following a manual review, an active policy is packaged to include coverage for each of the plurality of diagnoses up to each diagnosis' corresponding dollar limit of coverage.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2006Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: Pets Best Insurance ServicesInventors: Jack Stephens, Daniel W. Publication number: 20140104137Abstract: Systems and methods include utilizing a layer stack to indirectly associate logical and physical display content. A layer stack may decouple content from content presentation details at a physical display, facilitating the implementation of mirroring, spanning, and other multiple-display modes across non-contiguous display devices with disparate resolutions, densities, and other characteristics, while maintaining native device configuration settings. In one implementation, a layer stack may be a collection of surfaces. The layer stack may be associated with a first logical display having a first resolution. A region containing parts of one or more surfaces, at a first position of the layer stack and corresponding to the first resolution of the first logical display, may be rendered and output, based on a display projection, to a first physical display. Further implementations may use combinations of additional logical displays, physical displays, or layer stacks to implement various multiple-display modes.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2013Publication date: April 17, 2014Applicant: GOOGLE INC.Inventor: Jeff Brown

Publication number: 20140104138Abstract: Systems and methods for determining when two or more displays should present (mirror) the same content. An example method may include determining whether there is content for display at a first logical display primarily associated with a first display device. And if so, displaying content associated with the first logical display at the first display device; if not, switching to displaying content associated with a different second logical display at the first display device. In one implementation, the second logical display can be a default logical display for switching to. The method can also include informing applications of available logical displays for associating content, and activating/deactivating “mirroring” based on indications from applications. In one implementation, a single application can provide content for the first and second logical display.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2013Publication date: April 17, 2014Applicant: Google Inc.Inventor: Jeff Brown

Patent number: 8621253Abstract: A method and system for boosting a clock frequency for a processor in a mobile device based on user interface (UI) demand are described. In response to a user interaction through a UI in the mobile device, a vertical synchronization pulse request is made by an application and an indication of such request can be provided to a governor. The governor can adjust a clock frequency of a processor in the mobile device based on the generated indication. The processor can be a central processing unit or a graphics processing unit. The clock frequency can be boosted to a higher frequency to increase the processing capabilities of the mobile device to handle the computational requirements of the user interaction. Some time after boosting the clock frequency of the processor, the governor can return to normal operations in which the clock frequency scaling is typically based on a measured system load.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2012Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Jeff Brown, Mathias Agopian, Todd Poynor

Patent number: 8381758Abstract: A safety relief fill valve adapted to being an interface for filling and relieving excess pressure from a closed fluid system. An insert shell retains a piston member for movement between fluid input and fluid holding configurations, the piston member being resiliently biased toward fluid holding configuration. When in fluid holding configuration, the piston member sealingly engages an inlet bore of the insert shell. When in fluid input configuration, the piston member allows fluid flow through the inlet bore. A housing receives the insert shell, thereby limiting relative axial movement and forming a cavity between a portion of the housing the insert shell. This cavity provides mechanical guidance and a flow channel for an overpressure relief system having fluid retaining and fluid relief configurations, the overpressure relief system being elastically biased toward fluid retaining configuration. The elastic bias is overcome responsive to excess pressure within the closed fluid system.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2010Date of Patent: February 26, 2013Assignee: YSN Imports, Inc.Inventors: Shmuel Dovid Newman, Jeff Brown

Publication number: 20120204976Abstract: Regulators for regulating gas that is delivered in discrete charges from a tank that contains compressed gas to a paintball gun, marker, or other application that utilizes or is activated by pressure controlled discrete charges of gas. The regulator has holding, discharge, and fill configurations, controlled by the movement of a piston member in a pressurized chamber, and the activation of a poppet valve on the discharge of the system. One or two low side pressure relief members are provided to prevent the over-pressurization of the pressurized chamber. An externally threaded sleeve member is non-rotatably, but axially slidably received on a distal portion of the body of the regulator so that the sleeve member and distal portion may be axially slidably disengaged, and the regulator can be rotationally positioned so that the pressure gauge is easily viewed by an operator.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 19, 2012Publication date: August 16, 2012Applicant: YSN Imports, Inc.Inventors: Shmuel Dovid Newman, Jeff Brown
