  • Patent number: 7300117
Abstract: A wheel ornamentation assembly is provided for attachment to a wheel secured to a wheel hub with a plurality of lug nuts. The wheel ornamentation assembly includes a wheel ornamentation body having an outboard surface and an inboard surface. The wheel ornamentation assembly includes clusters of retention legs that extend axially from the inboard surface and are arranged in circular patterns to receive the lug nuts therein. Each of the clusters of retention legs includes a gap which extends to the inboard surface. Each of the clusters of retention legs further includes a plurality of primary retention legs arranged in opposed pairs on either side of the gap and a pair of secondary retention legs arranged in opposed positions on either side of the gap. • Patent number: 7300116
Abstract: A center lock for a wheel cover of a wheel assembly that includes a wheel cover and a wheel. The wheel includes a recessed hub area that is surrounded by an annular wall having a protrusion formed therein. The wheel cover is configured to engage the protrusion and thereby lock the center of the wheel cover onto the wheel. The wheel assembly may also include a rim lock by providing a recess in the outer periphery of the wheel and a lip in the outer periphery of the wheel cover that is configured to engage the recess in the outer periphery of the wheel. The wheel assembly can include a central cap that includes clasp elements which engage the protrusion formed in the annular wall of the wheel.

  • Publication number: 20070019075
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for testing image sensors are disclosed. Desirable apparatuses of the present invention include image sensor testing devices comprising a digital light projection system capable of projecting static or dynamic images onto an image sensing device under test and an image sensor signal detection means for analyzing the output of said image sensing device under test. The digital light projection system comprises a light source, collimating optics, a digital micromirror device, and focusing optics. Other desirable methods and apparatuses of the present invention include image sensor testing devices employing a digital light projection system capable of simultaneously testing a plurality of image sensors. According to the present invention, the light source is calibrated and converted to a desired test image by the digital micromirror device. The test image is then focused onto an image sensor, the output of which is read by a detector and correlated with the input digital test image.

  • Publication number: 20050242657
Abstract: Inserts that are configured to be placed in gaps provide between wheel covers and underlying wheel of wheel assemblies. The inserts are made from materials that are suitable rigid and strong so as to reinforce and protect the overlying portions of the wheel cover from impact damage such as denting in the case of metal wheel covers and cracking or breaking in the case of plastic wheel covers. The inserts further prevent otherwise hollow portions of the wheel assembly from sounding, feeling or seeming hollow.

  • Patent number: 6585330
Abstract: A wheel cover snap fastens to stylized lug nuts of a wheel using resilient retainers that are integrally fastened to the wheel cover. The stylized lug nuts correspond and axially extend through apertures in the wheel cover when the wheel cover is assembled to the wheel. The retainers are secured to an inboard face of the wheel cover and correspondingly engage the stylized lug nuts to retain the wheel trim assembly to the wheel such that retainers are not visible when the wheel trim assembly is viewed from a direction normal to the outboard face of the wheel cover. The apertures are sized in relation to annular flanges on the lug nuts and to the resilient tabs of the retainers such that the wheel cover and/or annular flanges of the lug nuts conceal the retainers from view, and thereby provide an uninterrupted chrome appearance.

  • Patent number: 6022081
Abstract: An ornamental wheel cover integrally retained on the lug nuts of a vehicle wheel that provides positive positioning of the cover to the lug nuts. The lug nuts preferably have a flange that defines an upper shoulder. The cover is provided with a number of elongated tubular extensions axially projecting from the cover that are each partially slotted to provide a plurality of cantilevered fingers. Each finger has an undercut groove that has a shoulder which positively positions the cover to the upper shoulder of the lug nuts of the wheel. Below the undercut groove is a bulbous portion that contacts the lug nut below the flange. When the cover is attached to the wheel, the elongated tubular extensions are aligned with the lug nuts and the cover is moved axially inwardly of the wheel so that the cantilevered fingers separate slightly as the bulbous portions pass over the flange of the lug nut.
