  • Publication number: 20140131380
Abstract: In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to the substantially sterile transport of a substantially sterile substance using a liner-based assembly having an overpack and a flexible or semi-rigid liner disposed within the overpack configured for pressure dispense, and a connector securable to at least one of the overpack or liner. The connector may include a first port operably connected with a quick connector configured for substantially aseptic filling of the liner. The first port may be configured for substantially aseptic sealing after filling of the liner. The connector may be configured for substantially aseptic dispense of the substance of the liner via the first port after unsealing of the first port or via a second port. In some particular embodiments, the second port may be operably connected with a quick connector, and dispense of the substance of the liner occurs via the quick connector of the second port.

  • Patent number: 8567082
Abstract: A method of monitoring wear of a slew bearing system includes steps of assembling a slew bearing system having a first bearing ring and a second bearing ring concentrically positioned relative to each other forming at least upper and lower raceways, a plurality of bearing rollers positioned in each raceway between the first bearing ring and the second bearing ring, and an index system having a first reference connected with the first bearing ring and positioned relative to a second reference on the second bearing ring to provide a measurable distance between the first reference and the second reference, where the measurable distance changes with wear of the slew bearing system; and monitoring a change in the measurable distance between the first reference and the second reference to monitor wear of the slew bearing system.

  • Publication number: 20130017527
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for rewarding students with redeemable tokens during a lesson are disclosed. As the student works through the lesson, the system determines whether any designated performance events occur based on the student's performance. Based on any occurrences of performance events, the system may accumulate one or more tokens for the student. The system may provide a visual indication of any tracked occurences of performance events. For example, for each occurrence of a performance event, the system increments a progress meter by a designated amount. When progress meter reaches a designated level, the system accumulates a designated quantity of tokens for the student. The amount by which the progress meter increments for each occurrence of a performance event may be based on the type of performance event which occurs. Different types of performance events may have different values or contribute differently toward the accumulation of tokens.

  • Publication number: 20130017530
Abstract: The learning system disclosed herein enables a performance assessment to be incorporated or integrated into instructional materials being administered to a student as part of the student's current learning prescription. As the student progresses through the instructional materials, the system collects and maintains data regarding the student's performance. When data indicate that the student is not meeting certain educational goals, the system adjusts or alters the student's learning prescription to accommodate the student's current needs.

  • Publication number: 20130017528
Abstract: A learning system includes at least one student workstation which holds a learning session for a student. The system generates and displays primary instructional material to the student in accordance with student profile data for the student. The system causes supplemental material or content to be generated and displayed to the student at the student workstation when a downtime interval is triggered. The system generates the supplemental material in accordance with the student profile data for the student. The disclosed system thus enables downtime to be more appropriately utilized by the student, in a manner that accommodates the learning preferences and skill gaps of the student and/or that rewards the student for showing proficiency at a skill.

  • Patent number: 8002472
Abstract: A slew bearing system includes a first bearing ring and a second bearing ring concentrically positioned relative to each other forming at least upper and lower raceways there between, a plurality of bearing rollers positioned in each raceway between the first bearing ring and the second bearing ring, a plurality of delivery nozzles capable of delivering an air and oil mixture into the raceways adjacent the upper raceway, passages capable of fluidly communicating the air and oil mixture through the raceways and collecting some oil from the mixture adjacent the lower raceway, seals capable of regulating air flow through the passages and inhibiting outflow of oil from the raceways, and at least one exit port capable of outward flow of air and oil from the raceways adjacent the lower raceway.

  • Patent number: 5790176
Abstract: A media server receives, stores and forwards multi-media data and full motion video feature presentations within a public switched telephone network. The media server receives wide band digital video and MPEG encoded video signals. The wide band digital video is encoded using either a real-time MPEG encoding for immediate transmission over network facilities to subscribers or, using a multi-pass MPEG encoder for storage by the Media Server for subsequent transmission. The Media Server includes four levels of storage including DRAM, optical and magnetic disk storage, high speed tape storage and archival storage. A Librarian Processor allocates storage space on a media appropriate to retrieval requirements for the video data. The Librarian is responsive to a Storage Manager Processor and a Session Manager Processor for providing video program data to an Output Controller. The Session Manager Processor monitors all input, output and throughput of the Media Server and monitors all user initiated sessions.
