  • Publication number: 20240082002
Abstract: A fiber producing apparatus and method for producing fibers having at least two different dimensions or characteristics. The apparatus cuts fibers of varying length, thickness, and width by varying a cutting stroke length, using a cutting plate having different cutting blades, and applying varying pressure on a material during the cutting process. The fibers of the present invention are moldable and can be used as an implant having a structure that mimics native or natural bones. The ability to mimic natural bone improves cellular infiltration and bone growth.

  • Patent number: 6129852
Abstract: The present invention relates to flow control devices (4) for use with cartridge filter cleaning systems. The flow control device (4) includes a cylindrical portion (8) which extends away from a conical portion (6). When the device (4) is used with a nozzle (9) attached to a blow tube (13) the device (4) will uniformly clean a dirty cartridge filter (5). The advantage of the invention is that the device (4) can be used in the current range of air flow rates and nozzle sizes that are used in the cartridge cleaning industry. Whereas the prior art systems (7) show deficient performance when used across the full range of air flow rates currently applicable in industry.

  • Patent number: 5887797
Abstract: A reverse pulse cleaning system for use in a bag house filter including a blow tube (2) having outlet holes (3) to direct high velocity air pulses into filter bags to be cleaned. The systems includes a nozzle (1) having a control formation between the inlet and outlet ends of the nozzle. The control formation determines air flow characteristics such as velocity and direction of flow emerging from the outlet holes (3) and can improve uniformity and effectiveness of filter bag cleaning. A clampable and releasable fixing of the nozzle (1) to the blow tube allows replacement of the control formation with one of different characteristics during manufacturing or insitu fine tuning. The fixing allows the precise alignment of nozzles (1) on assembly which reduces the need for costly precision in forming the blow tube outlet holes (3).

  • Patent number: 5555909
Abstract: A sealing and joining arrangement (49) suitable for use in conjunction with a valve (28) used for delivering a blast of compressed air from a reservoir (20) to a blow-tube (34) of a dust-collector baghouse (39). The arrangement comprises (i) a socket-to-tube interconnection including one seal (48) to adapt the socket to the tube; and (ii) a second compliant seal (42) to adapt either the socket or tube (as required) to a clearance hole (44) of a bulkhead wall (36) of the baghouse. The socket-to-tube part of the arrangement may be applied to either outlet (preferably), inlet or both. The arrangement (49) may facilitate assembly of many valves in a baghouse typical within the dust collector field.

  • Patent number: 5520366
Abstract: A pilot-operated diaphragm valve adapted to deliver a compressed air pulse from its outlet includes a valve top and valve trigger sub-assembly that cooperate to cycle a flexible diaphragm of the valve toward and away from a diaphragm seat by application of an electric solenoid or external pneumatic pulse applied to the valve trigger. The valve top and trigger sub-assembly enclose a reciprocable hollow plunger that normally is held against a seat at its lower end by a reciprocable solid plunger supported for sliding movement above the hollow plunger in a sealed tube and biased by a spring into engagement with the hollow plunger. Activation of the solenoid or external pneumatic signal pulse drives the solid plunger out of engagement with the hollow plunger which in turn unseats producing low pressure above the diaphragm. The low pressure unseats the diaphragm allowing a high energy pulse of air to escape past the diaphragm through the outlet.
