  • Patent number: 8141666
Abstract: A solar powered baggage cart that includes a baggage container portion, an operator platform, front wheels and rear wheels underlying the baggage cart for supporting, and an array of photo-voltaic cells located in an overlying relationship to the container. The cells are in electrical communication with a bank of batteries through a charging control circuit for charging the batteries, which are mounted under the baggage cart and are electrically connected to one or more electric motor/pumps. The electric motor/pumps are in mechanical communication with respective drive motors and brakes for the front and rear wheels. The baggage cart is configured to steer in one of three modes, a front wheel steer mode, a rear wheel assist steer mode or a crab steer mode.

  • Patent number: 7510169
Abstract: A hoist system for handling a 400 Hz cable used for aircraft electrical servicing, that utilizes electrical circuitry where wire rope position sensing is accomplished using a grounding circuitry. The system employs an AC drive that relies on circuit completion through “sinking logic.” Electrically connected are wire rope guide rollers, a control pendant, a bridge horizontal control relay, which is in electrical communication with a horizontal bridge lock-out bar. The wire rope is used as an electrical conductor for control voltage only. A lower limit contact bar extends above a plane between the wire rope guide rollers and the take-up spool, as serves to prevent the wire rope from rewinding in a reverse manner on the take-up spool. A horizontal bridge lock-out bar extends above a plane between the wire rope guide rollers and the take-up spool and is used to allow or inhibit horizontal bridge movement.

  • Patent number: 7128186
Abstract: The present invention is an aircraft people lift system for use in combination with a movable elevated passenger walkway/bridge having an attached auxiliary access stairway and landing platform. The system includes a lifting portion which has a longitudinal base portion and a longitudinal elevating portion from which a personnel carrier platform is pivotally attached to a distal end of the longitudinal elevating portion. The longitudinal base portion is attached at its approximate distal end to a bogie wheel carriage frame structure of a passenger walkway/bridge. The lifting portion is capable of raising and lowering the personnel carrier platform such that the personnel carrier platform maintains a generally perpendicular relationship with the ground surface beneath the landing platform as it is being raised and lowered to and from the ground surface from and to an upper portion landing platform of the auxiliary access stairway.

  • Patent number: 6802391
Abstract: The invention is a loading system, which is a combination adjustable height stairway and a landing platform at one end that can be elevated to the level of the aircraft loading door and a lifting portion for loading articles to and from the landing platform. Both the lifting portion and the adjustable height stairway are side by side and are adapted to move in unison to and from the aircraft and further adapted to independently elevate or descend. The stairway and lifting portion may each be independently operated by at least one hydraulically driven motor. The system can moved to and from the aircraft using a combination of independent drive wheels and swivel wheels in order to provide tight maneuverability of the combined stairway and lifting portion.
