  • Publication number: 20220072580
Abstract: Applicators and methods for dispensing material are disclosed. The applicator includes a syringe defining an inlet, and outlet, a chamber extending from the inlet to the outlet, a plunger disposed within the chamber, and a piston attached to the plunger, where the piston is configured to move the plunger through the chamber. The applicator also includes an actuation mechanism configured to linearly translate the piston through the chamber so as to dispense material through the outlet, a sensor attached to the plunger, where the sensor is configured to sense a linear movement of the plunger, and a controller configured to adjust operation of the actuation mechanism based on the linear movement sensed by the sensor such that the piston repeatedly dispenses a predetermined amount of the material from the outlet of the syringe over a plurality of dispense cycles.

  • Patent number: 10130970
Abstract: Jetting dispensers and methods for jetting droplets of fluid material are disclosed. A jetting dispenser may include a fluid module and a plunger. A fluid module includes a fluid body member having within it a fluid body bore, and a nozzle having a dispensing opening. A plunger has a distal tip end surface that opposes and is complementary to a nozzle element surface of the nozzle adapted is moveable between a retracted position spaced from the dispensing opening and a forward position proximate to but spaced from the nozzle. At least one droplet of fluid material is jetted from the dispensing opening as the plunger moves from the retracted position to the forward position. The plunger is stopped prior to contacting the nozzle, so wear is lessoned and fluid material containing particles may be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 9309042
Abstract: A liquid dispensing syringe and method for reducing piston bounce includes a barrel and a piston. The barrel defines an interior reservoir having an inner surface. The piston is disposed within the interior reservoir and has a proximal end and an elastic portion configured to expand under the influence of a pressurized gas. A first circumferentially extending wiper seal is positioned on the piston. The first wiper seal liquidly seals against the inner surface. A second circumferentially extending wiper seal is positioned on the piston proximally from the first wiper seal on the elastic portion. As such, the expanding elastic portion forces the second wiper seal to fluidly sealing against the inner surface for inhibiting the pressurized gas from flowing distally beyond the second wiper seal in order to reduce piston bounce.
