Publication number: 20240080965Abstract: A method for producing a neutrons includes triggering a raising or a lowering of a temperature of a pyroelectric crystal of less than about 40° C. to produce a voltage of negative polarity of at least ?100 keV on a surface of a deuterated or tritiated target coupled thereto. A deuterium ion source is pulsed to produce a deuterium ion beam. The accelerating of the deuterium ion beam is achieved by accelerating voltage of the pyroelectric crystal toward the deuterated or tritiated target to produce neutrons. Furthermore, the pyroelectric crystal, the deuterated or tritiated target, and the deuterium ion source are coupled to a common support. The method also includes throwing the common support housing the pyroelectric crystal, the deuterated or tritiated target, and the deuterium ion source near an unknown threat for identification thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Vincent Tang, Glenn A. Meyer, Steven Falabella, Gary Guethlein, Brian Rusnak, Stephen Sampayan, Christopher Spadaccini, Li-Fang Wang, John Harris, Jeff Morse

Publication number: 20240065777Abstract: Methods and systems for performing robotically-assisted surgery in conjunction with intra-operative imaging. A method includes moving a robotic arm with respect to a patient and an imaging device to move an end effector of the robotic arm to a pre-determined position and orientation with respect to the patient based on imaging data of the patient obtained by the imaging device. The robotic arm maintains the end effector in the pre-determined position and orientation with respect to the patient and does not collide with the imaging device or with the patient when the imaging device moves with respect to the patient.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2023Publication date: February 29, 2024Applicant: Mobius Imaging, LLCInventors: Eugene A. Publication number: 20190388242Abstract: An implant inserter is adapted to secure and facilitate insertion of a surgical implant. The implant has an inserter attachment interface having a narrow external opening at a surface thereof and a broader internal opening. The implant inserter includes a handle and an inserter shaft. The implant inserter also includes a pair of flexible tabs extending from a distal end of the inserter shaft with laterally extending protrusions adapted to extend into the broader internal opening and an expansion shaft adapted to selectively extend between the flexible tabs whereby the expansion shaft prevents flexion of the flexible tabs such that the laterally extending protrusions secure the surgical implant, and whereby when the expansion shaft does not extend between the flexible tabs, the flexible tabs can be flexed inwardly to cause the laterally extending protrusions to have a narrower profile that is able to be passed through the narrow external opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2019Publication date: December 26, 2019Inventors: Jeff Harris, Peter Halverson, David Hawkes

Patent number: 6282531Abstract: A computer system for managing applied knowledge and workflows in multiple dimensions and contexts which includes: an assessor program for screening subjects and collecting, assessing and creating objects to represent the subjects using flexible domain and subdomain descriptors; a system manager for identifying sentinel data; and at least one activity manager for creating and managing activity plans and completions for various types of task performers. In a preferred embodiment, the assessor program is able to interactively collect data about a subject and classify the information into a number of domain descriptors. Each object domain descriptor, in turn may have several subdomain descriptors. The system manager uses applied knowledge databases to identify which domain and subdomain descriptors for an object are significant for the overall assessment and system purposes and identifies these as sentinel data.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1998Date of Patent: August 28, 2001Assignee: CogniMed, LLCInventors: John F.
