  • Patent number: 6869851
Abstract: A method of forming two regions having differing depths using a single implantation process is provided. A mask having two openings associated therewith is formed over a semiconductor body, wherein one of the openings has a size larger than an implantation design rule, and the other opening has a size smaller than the design rule. An implant is performed into the semiconductor body through the implant mask, resulting in two distinct doped regions, wherein the region associated with the larger opening has more dopant than the region associated with the smaller opening. Subsequent activation and thermal processing results in the one region diffusing a greater amount than the second region, thereby resulting in two regions formed concurrently having different depths.

  • Publication number: 20050036602
Abstract: A system and method for sensing and provisioning two or four wire mode for a communications link are provided. In one example, the method includes attempting to train a base wire pair associated with a base port for two-wire mode. If the two-wire mode training is unsuccessful, an unassigned port associated with a first wire pair is identified and the base and unassigned ports are configured for four-wire mode. An attempt is made to train the base and first wire pairs for four-wire mode. If the four-wire mode training is successful, a four-wire service is established using the base and first wire pairs.

  • Patent number: 6688401
Abstract: A horseshoe made from rubber or an elastomeric material has a tread portion with a plurality of interconnected side-by-side hollow cylindrical buttons. The buttons are open at their upper ends and their lower ends are covered by a thin film of the rubber or elastomeric material. The horseshoe is attached to the horse's hoof with an adhesive and sufficient adhesive is applied to the tread portion to fill the buttons with adhesive material and provide a thin layer of the adhesive material between the tread portion and the hoof when the horseshoe is pushed toward the hoof.

  • Publication number: 20040007716
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for designing electrical contact for a bipolar emitter structure. The area of an emitter structure (106, 306, 400, 404) and the required current density throughput of an electrical contact structure (108, 308, 402, 406) are determined. A required electrical contact area is determined based on the required current density, and the electrical contact structure is then designed to minimize the required electrical contact area with respect to the emitter structure area.

  • Publication number: 20020118231
Abstract: The present application provides a software architecture having a framework and extensibility of that framework. The framework is the foundation for all of the components that implement the core functionality. Software is developed by building a basic application, and adding components to it that implement the functionality of that application. Those components are extensible and flexible, so as to be reused in future products. The framework constitutes the portions of an application that are not covered by any one particular module. There are five general categories of components that constitute the Architecture Framework are Applications, Frame Windows, Documents, Extensions, and Services. A frame manager controls all frame windows used by an application with the help of and extension manager.

  • Patent number: 6212607
Abstract: A memory device (201) having left (203) and right (204) ports for communicating with left (205) and right (206) electronic devices, includes memory banks (401-0˜401-7), semaphore logic (302), and port coupling circuitry (403, 404, 405-0˜405-7, 406-0˜406-7, 407-0˜407-7). The semaphore logic generates bank access grant signals (313, 314) on a first received basis in response to bank access requests from the left and right electronic devices, and the port coupling circuitry couples selected memory banks to the left and right ports in response to the bank access grant signals. Also included in the memory device are mail-box registers (2500-0L˜2500-3L, 2500-0R˜2500-3R), interrupt generating circuitry (2514-0L˜2514-3L, 2514-0R˜2514-3R, 2900, 3000, 307, 308), and interrupt status and cause registers (3101L˜3102L, 3101R˜3102R, 3301L˜3302L, 3301R˜3302R).

  • Patent number: 6168359
Abstract: The present invention is a device for securing a load on the flat bed of a truck having sidewalls or other vehicle having a like cargo area. One exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises a base member having rods extending substantially vertically therefrom. Adjustable side connectors are coupled to the base member at one or both sides of the base member in order to secure the base member to the side walls of the flat bed. A slide bar is adjustably displaced along the length of the rods to adapt to loads of varying height. The slide bar serves to secure and to stabilize the load. A fastener directs the slide bar against the load and toward the base member. Thus, the slide bar acts in a clamp-like manner to secure a load within the flat bed area of a vehicle. The present invention further comprises extension elements which enable the side connectors to be engaged to the sidewalls of the flat bed at varying heights depending on the construction of the vehicle.
