Publication number: 20260066586Abstract: A cable connector module includes a housing includes contact pockets and contact modules received in the corresponding contact pockets. Each contact module includes a contact holder holding contacts in pairs. The cable connector module includes cables having cable ends terminated to the contact modules. The cable connector module includes ground cages associated with the cables and the corresponding contact modules. Each ground cage provides circumferential shielding around the cable end of the corresponding cable and around the contact modules. The ground cage is electrically connected to the cable shield of the corresponding cable and is mechanically coupled to the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 5, 2024Publication date: March 5, 2026Inventors: Blake Dunbar, Kevin Stauffer, Chad William Morgan, Jiwang Jin, Michael Eugene Shirk, Craig Warren Hornung, Julia Anne Lachman, Matthew Jeffrey Sypolt, Jeff Swartzbaugh

Patent number: 11545786Abstract: A cable card assembly includes a circuit card having a substrate including mating pads at a mating end and cable pads at a cable end. The circuit card has a ground plane. Cables are terminated to the circuit card at the cable end each having signal conductors, an insulator surrounding the signal conductors, and a ground conductor surrounding the insulator. Cable shields are terminated to the ground plane providing electrical shielding for the corresponding cables. Each cable shield includes an end wall between first and second side walls to form a cable cavity. The end wall has a connecting portion between the first and second side walls and a shroud portion extending from the connecting portion covering a portion of the ground conductor. The shroud portion is curved to follow a curvature of the ground conductor and extend along opposite sides of the ground conductor.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2021Date of Patent: January 3, 2023Assignee: TE CONNECTIVITY SOLUTIONS GmbHInventors: Yujie He, Bruce Allen Champion, Jeff Swartzbaugh, James Charles Shiffer

Patent number: 10535956Abstract: An electrical device includes an organizer having a dielectric body including an upper surface and a lower surface supporting ends of cables having signal wires and having conductors on the upper surface and on the lower surface being electrically connected to corresponding signal wires. The electrical device includes an impedance control body separate and discrete from the dielectric body and coupled to the dielectric body of the organizer. The impedance control body has an upper pad on the upper surface covering the conductors and signal wire on the upper surface and a lower pad on the lower surface covering the conductors and signal wires on the lower surface. The impedance control body has a connecting tab passing through a void in the organizer between the upper pad and the lower pad.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 2018Date of Patent: January 14, 2020Assignee: TE CONNECTIVITY CORPORATIONInventors: Randall Robert Henry, Dustin Grant Rowe, Robert Harrison Wertz, Jr., Julia Anne Lachman, Jeff Swartzbaugh, Christopher Michael Pogash
