  • Publication number: 20060102261
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a portable air compressor having a storage compartment, which may be used to store air compressor accessories. A shroud which encloses a portable air compressor has a recess. The recess is at least partially covered with a cover member, which is mounted to the shroud. The recess and the cover member together define a storage compartment for storing air compressor accessories such as fittings, nozzles, and the like, and/or tools such as a wrench, or the like.

  • Publication number: 20050152777
Abstract: A sealing arrangement for a stator shroud segment is provided that includes a resilient seal to reduce air leakage and improve turbine engine efficiency. The stator shroud segment includes an outer shroud having a leading edge groove and a trailing edge groove, both grooves of the outer shroud opening in a first, axial direction; and a plurality of inner shrouds each having a leading edge hook and a trailing edge hook. The hooks of the inner shrouds project in a second, axial direction, diametrically opposite the first axial direction and the leading and trailing hooks of each of the inner shrouds are respectively engaged with the leading and trailing edge grooves of the outer shroud so as to connect the inner shrouds to the outer shroud. A resilient shaped seal is located on a leading edge hook of the inner shroud so as to be between the leading hook and a retaining ring that contributes to holding the inner shroud in place.

The hooks of the inner shrouds project in a second, axial direction, diametrically opposite the first axial direction and the leading and trailing hooks of each of the inner shrouds are respectively engaged with the leading and trailing edge grooves of the outer shroud so as to axially and radially lock the inner shrouds to the outer shroud. The assembly simplifies access to and removal of the inner shroud(s) without added complexity.

  • Patent number: 6524286
Abstract: A medical application system and method for animals for delivering topical medication to the skin of an animal includes a propulsion device and a frangible capsule containing topical medication in liquid form. In a preferred embodiment the medication is an insecticide and is mixed with an oil based paint. In an alternate embodiment for medicating sheep the liquid is preferably a water based paint to prevent staining of the wool. It is also preferred that the propulsion device be a pump style pellet gun for allowing adjustment of the propulsion force provided to the capsule such that the capsule will impact the animal with sufficient force to break the capsule without harming the animal. In a most preferred embodiment, the capsule further contains a pellet for facilitating breakage of the capsule when the capsule impacts the animal.

  • Patent number: 6324341
Abstract: A method is provided, the method comprising preheating a rapid thermal processing chamber according to a preheating recipe and processing a first plurality of workpieces in the rapid thermal processing chamber. The method also comprises performing first parameter measurements on first and second workpieces of the first plurality of workpieces, the first parameter measurements indicative of first processing differences between the first and second workpieces, and forming a first output signal corresponding to the first parameter measurements. The method further comprises adjusting the preheating recipe based on the first output signal and using the adjusted preheating recipe to preheat the rapid thermal processing chamber for processing a second plurality of workpieces in the rapid thermal processing chamber to reduce second processing differences between first and second workpieces of the second plurality of workpieces.

  • Patent number: 5930918
Abstract: A shoe of the present invention comprises a sole, a flexible bladder, and a cushioning material. The sole has a recess configured to receive the flexible bladder. The flexible bladder has interior surface portions defining at least one chamber. The chamber includes a first region and a second region. A cushioning material occupies the first region and a compressible fluid occupies the second region. The compressible fluid provides a primary elastic response to an external pressure applied to an external surface of the bladder through compression of the compressible fluid. The cushioning material, elastically deformable but generally incompressible, provides a secondary elastic response to the external pressure applied to the external surface of the bladder through elastic deformation of the cushioning material.
