  • Publication number: 20200274822
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards automatically scaling segments of a stream of data. According to an embodiment, a system can comprise a memory that can store computer executable components, and a processor that can execute the computer executable components stored in the memory. The computer executable components can comprise a predictor that can predict a future communication load of a stream of data provided by a stream provider device, the stream comprising segments of a size. The computer executable components can further comprise a size changer that can receive an indication that a present communication load of the stream of data has transitioned a threshold, and change the size of a segment of the segments based on the indication and the future communication load of the stream of data.

  • Publication number: 20200192708
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards automatically scaling distributed computing resources of a distributed computing system based on a system load measurement and a trend factor indicative of whether the system load is increasing or decreasing. If a computing resource load value is above a resource addition threshold value and the trend factor indicates that the computing resource load is increasing, a corresponding computing resource is added to the distributed computing system. If a computing resource load value is below a resource removal threshold value and the trend factor indicates that the computing resource load is decreasing, a corresponding computing resource is removed from the distributed computing system. The trend factor can be obtained using a moving average convergence divergence (MACD) direction indicator.

  • Patent number: 10117538
Abstract: A system and apparatus for translating cooking time and temperatures from arrays of pictures of foods cooked to different degrees of doneness or other type of result. The system enables users to select a desired doneness from pictures of food and optionally add additional modifiers it based on the size, weight, shape, and fat content of the meat with additional pictures indexed to different modification parameters. The system enables users to adjust a setting if the user has modified the food he or she intends to cook, such as by cutting in half, or if the food was frozen, allowing additional cook time and parameter modifications. A program of instructions pertaining to the system can be located on a sous vide cooking device or on a device external to the a sous vide device, such as on a personal computing device.

  • Patent number: 10111552
Abstract: A multifunction cooking range with sous-vides functionality. Cooking ranges are found in every home and in every restaurant; with the addition of a high precision temperature controller attached to the heating elements, a fluidic temperature control device, the range can also be configured to enable sous-vide cooking. By using a pot filled with fluid located on a burner, the user would immerse a fluidic temperature control device in the pot while using the burner with a heating element that is modulated by the controller and temperature sensor.

  • Publication number: 20180255957
Abstract: A sous vide cooking program for precision cooking. The cooking program automatically lowers the cook temperature to minimum safe temperature after finishing a cooking program so food does not become over cooked and holds system temperature to halt further cooking and to prevent bacteria growth. Program can also start lowering the temperature to cook food on a temperature gradient to accurately achieve desired results via mathematic modeled gradient curves.
