Publication number: 20160162322Abstract: Debugging capabilities for software running in a cloud-computing environment are disclosed. A controller identifies which machines in the cloud are running instances of software to be debugged. An agent is deployed onto the machines in the cloud to facilitate communication with the developer's machine. When the developer wants to debug software on the agent's machine, the agent downloads and installs a monitor onto the machine. The agent configures the machine for remote debugging via the monitor. A security mechanism ensures that only authenticated developers can access the monitor and the remote machine for debugging. A controller automatically determines which machines can be debugged, updates a list of processes available for debugging on the machines, and identifies how to connect a developer's debugging client to the machines. The controller permits remote debugging only upon request from an authenticated developer and only for those processes that the developer is permitted to debug.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2016Publication date: June 9, 2016Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLC.Inventors: Sung Hon Wu, Lubo Birov, Anthony Crider, Jeff Young

Patent number: 8489536Abstract: In some embodiments, a method includes receiving an electronic document that comprising a list of one or more features specified for use during processing of the electronic document by an application. The method also includes determining if one or more specified features from the list of specified features is not supported by the application. The method includes executing an operation that is defined by a prescription associated with one or more specified features, in response to a determination that the one or more specified features is not supported by the application, wherein the prescription defines at least one of an operation to be performed or a restriction to be applied by the application as part of subsequent processing of the electronic document.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2012Date of Patent: July 16, 2013Assignee: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventors: Jeff Young, Ed A. Patent number: 8352851Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a form author may declaratively state a condition under which a break event may occur to insert a break between data items in a list of data items. Optionally, formatting, a leader subform, and/or a trailer subform may be inserted between the data items in the event the condition is satisfied. Such a declarative condition may be introduced into an XFA template specification. A condition that may be evaluated may include mathematical operation, a Boolean expression, an integer expression, a floating point expression, a string expression, and/or a data item evaluation. A new layout of the list of data items may be implemented without transformation of the original layout of the list of data items wherein the list of data items may revert to the original layout of the list of data items, for example after performing an operation on the new layout of the list of data items.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2005Date of Patent: January 8, 2013Assignee: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventors: John P. Patent number: 8336043Abstract: A method and system for dynamically downloading custom code for execution within a host application is provided. A deployment system augments the manifest used for deploying managed applications to include information describing how the host application is to use the custom code, referred to as host manifest information. The deployment system reports the progress of the downloading of the manifest and the custom code to the host application. The host application can then perform appropriate host-specific processing. The host application may provide to the deployment system an interface for verifying the trust of the custom code. The deployment system also allows the host application to control the uninstalling of the custom code.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2007Date of Patent: December 18, 2012Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Darryn O.
