Abstract: A replaceable wall plate is disclosed. It includes a replaceable portion and a wall plate portion. The wall plate portion is typically screwed to a wall to form the cover of a wall outlet whereas the replaceable portion is removably attached to the wall plate portion. The removable attachment scheme is preferably accomplished for the two portions using the methods of prong insertion, button coupling or channel sliding. The replaceable portion further contains built-in electronics such as a surge protection device. It is configured in the replaceable portion for protecting electrical devices plugged or connected to the receptacles of this wall outlet. Accordingly, the replaceable portion along with its built-in surge protection device could be replaced such as in the case of electronics failure after an abnormal electrical event, for example, a voltage spike.

Abstract: A corner-sitting power strip is provided for overcoming the disadvantages of the existing power strips. Briefly, the present invention is able to operate like a typical power strip and is further configured to sit snugly on a corner. While electrical plugs of appliances and equipment are coupled with the multiple receptacles of the power strip, a base face of the strip housing snugly pushes against one side of the corner, and another base face of the same housing snugly pushes against another side of the corner. At the same time, the dimensions of the housing is designed such that electrical cords of inserted plugs are channeled out from the power strip in a generally parallel fashion either projecting upward against one side of the corner or projecting downward against the other side of the corner.

Abstract: A wall-mounted electrical receptacle adapter is provided and is configured for receiving contact blades of electrical cable plugs. A first adapter surface of the receptacle adapter contains the prong apertures and operatively makes contact with the contact blades of at least one electrical plug. This first adapter surface is disposed slanted downward at an angle relative to the wall side of the receptacle adapter. A second adapter surface disposed below the first adapter surface also being slanted downward at generally the same angle relative to the wall side as the first adapter surface. The slanting angles of the adapter surfaces allow the power cable to naturally and orderly extend downward toward the ground without making sharp angles at the plug end whereby lengthening the operational life of the power cables. In another embodiment, the slanting angles for the two adapter surfaces are different, whose angle measures one being greater than the other.

Abstract: A voltage surge suppression device is disclosed requiring no modification to electrical outlets for its installation. The device includes prongs for mating with a receptacle of a given electrical outlet, such as a wall outlet or a power strip. The device places its voltage surge suppression elements inside a cube-like housing sufficiently modular for easy removal and replacement and sufficiently small in size whereby allowing plugs of electrical appliances to be mated with the receptacles immediately adjacent to where the voltage surge suppression device is connected. When the need arises to replace the device, the replacement cost does not include the costs for circuit elements such as receptacle contacts, additional prongs, and an entire power strip.
