    Abstract: An apparatus for securing a fishing hook for the purpose of allowing the threading of a fishing line into an eyelet of a fishing hook including a container body having an interior volume suitable for receiving fishing hooks therein, a lid detachably connected to the container body for sealing an interior of the container body, and a fishing hook securing member attached to the lid for detachably receiving a hook portion of a fishing hook therein such that the eyelet portion of the fishing hook extends outwardly of the container body. A magnet is affixed within an interior of the lid. The fishing hook securing member includes a bolt member extending outwardly of the lid and a nut member threadedly connected to the bolt member. The fishing hook is secured between the nut member and a surface of the lid. The nut member includes a wingnut detachably secured to the bolt member and having arms extending radially outwardly of a central portion. At least one of the arms has a fishing line cutter formed thereon.

    Abstract: A fishing hook including a shank portion having a hook at one end and a slotted portion formed at an end of the shank portion opposite the hook. The slotted portion has an area in surface-to-surface contact with a surface of the shank portion. The area in surface-to-surface contact with the surface of the shank portion is distal the end which is joined with the shank portion. The slotted portion includes a first end contiguously joined to the shank portion, a central portion extending from the first end and tapering inwardly toward the shank portion, and a second end extending outwardly from the shank portion at the area in surface-to-surface contact with the shank portion. The first end, the central portion, and the second end are contiguous. The first end, the central portion, and the second end are in planar relationship with the shank portion.

    Abstract: An improved lawn mower blade including a cutting blade detachably affixed to a surface of the lawn mower blade and extending outwardly beyond a forward edge of the lawn mower blade, and a cover plate affixed to the cutting blade on the surface of the cutting blade opposite the lawn mower blade. The cover plate is in compressive contact with a surface of the cutting blade. The cutting blade has a thickness less than the thickness of the lawn mower blade. The cutting blade has a beveled edge extending outwardly beyond the forward edge of the lawn mower blade. The cutting blade is secured between the cover plate and the lawn mower blade by a plurality of bolts extending therethrough. A second cutting blade is detachably affixed to a surface of the lawn mower blade at an opposite end of the lawn mower blade and a second cover plate is affixed to a surface of the second cutting blade.
