  • Publication number: 20060169626
Abstract: A dispenser system that takes high pressure fluid such as a high pressure water source and reduces the volume flow of the high pressure water as it flows into a dispenser with the dispenser having a low pressure outlet, which offers negligible fluid resistance in comparison to the inlet fluid resistance to the dispenser, thereby ensuring that if a dispenser cap is accidentally removed from the dispenser while the unit is in operation the water will not spray out into and onto the user. The dispensing system includes a removable cartridge carrier with adjustable openings and a dispenser housing that one can maintain a uniform flow pattern under different flow rates to provide for a predicable control of a dispersion rate from a dispersant located in the system and a method of predictably changing the dispersion rate of a dispersant.

  • Publication number: 20060142404
Abstract: The invention provides in one aspect a process for preparing a microgel by RAFT polymerizing in the presence of a RAFT chain transfer agent, one or more solvophobic monomers and one or more solvophilic monomers to form one or more block copolymers comprising one or more solvophobic blocks and one or more solvophilic blocks wherein the solvophobic block is insoluble in a dispersing medium and the solvophilic block is soluble in the dispersing medium. The block copolymer is dispersed in the dispersing medium to form micelles, which is then stabilized to form the microgel. The dispersing medium can be aqueous or lipophilic. The method of the present invention also permits one to encapsulate a wide variety of materials, such as pigments, dye molecules, and aluminum flakes used in metallized paints.

  • Publication number: 20060025522
Abstract: This invention relates to a thermosetting primer composition having a low VOC content useful in the manufacture of automobiles and trucks in which the film-forming binder comprises a thermal polymerization initiator and an addition-polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomer which serves a dual function of solvent and binder polymer formed in situ on thermal curing to deliver low VOC and desired rheological and physical properties. These primers are especially useful in reducing emissions, while also meeting today's performance requirements, such as ease of application and excellent physical properties such as corrosion resistance, a high level of adhesion to primed and unprimed substrates, and provide a surface to which conventional automotive topcoats will adhere.

  • Publication number: 20060025534
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved solvent based high solids thermosetting coating composition having a low VOC content useful in the manufacture of automobiles and trucks comprising a film-forming binder, where the improvement is the inclusion in the binder of an addition-polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated compound and an effective amount of thermal free radical initiator to effect polymerization of the addition-polymerizable component using heat. The addition-polymerizable compound serves a dual function of solvent and auxiliary crosslinking agent for the coating system to deliver low VOC and desired rheological and physical properties. These coatings are especially useful in reducing emissions, while also meeting today's performance requirements for automotive topcoats, such as ease of application and excellent durability and appearance. No actinic radiation is needed to effect polymerization of the addition-polymerizable compound.

  • Publication number: 20050169451
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for a user to monitor and/or override a forwarded call. Typically, the forwarded call was initially an incoming call from a caller to the user and thereafter forwarded to a remote service system, such as a remote messaging system. The system and method determine a redirecting number from which the incoming call was forwarded. The system and method then initiates a second call to the user and a voice path is established connecting the forwarded call to the second call. Thereafter, the user is notified, for example, with a distinct ring at the user's telephone, of the option that the user may monitor and override the forwarded call. The system and method can also execute procedures to actuate the options elected by the user.

  • Publication number: 20020198760
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing relatively timely demographic data, and in some embodiments, demographic data that can be particularly helpful for local, neighborhood, program or project level decisions. Two or more source databases which are updated periodically are accessed and provide demographic or other data relating to street addresses, households, parcels of land, or other predetermined identifiers within a predefined geographic region. The demographic data from each of the source databases is preferably associated with a corresponding street address, household, parcel of land, or other identifier within the predefined geographic region. To protect the identify of the individual residents within the predefined geographic region, the demographic data for each street address, household, parcel of land or other identifier is preferably rolled together with at least one other street addresses, household, parcel of land or identifier.
