  • Publication number: 20240109566
Abstract: An automated system measures a plurality of parameters representing conditions of a linear asset while traversing the asset, thereby generating a plurality of data channels representing measurements of the plurality of parameters along the asset. The linear asset may be traversed a plurality of times to obtain additional data within the data channels. For each data channel, measurements obtained from multiple traversals are aligned with each other. Measurements in the data channels are aligned with locations along the linear asset. The resulting aligned data channels may be used to identify locations along the linear asset requiring replacement and/or repair.

  • Publication number: 20240109567
Abstract: A computer system generates output representing one or more conditions of a linear asset, such as visual output representing both the linear asset and the conditions of the linear asset. The visual output representing the conditions may be displayed adjacent to the linear asset at positions corresponding to the locations of those conditions in the linear asset. The visual output may be generated and displayed in a compact manner, such as by displaying the visual output representing some linearly-overlapping conditions in different rows than each other, in order to stack that visual output over each other (e.g., vertically), while grouping some visual output representing linearly-overlapping conditions together within the same row as each other, and while displaying visual output representing non-linearly-overlapping conditions as separate (e.g., noncontiguous) visual output within the same row as each other.

  • Publication number: 20050222917
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for the purchase of goods and/or services, a system therefor and method of conducting business thereby which comprise and/or employ the steps of a caller or would-be purchaser calling a service provider/vendor from a mobile phone device; a text or multimedia message being forwarded to the would-be purchaser's mobile phone device relating to the purchase of services and/or goods options and/or terms of procuring services and/or goods; and upon acceptance of the contents of the text or multimedia message, the would-be purchaser or caller is billed or charged a fee which allows the caller's access to telephonic and/or Internet vendor provided services and/or goods for a determined time period.

  • Publication number: 20050222938
Abstract: A system and method for allocating stock and cash amounts to individual trades in a netted trade. The system and method include bundling individual securities trades into a netted trade, transmitting the netted trade to a clearing house, receiving a settlement message from the clearing house, and allocating stock and cash amounts to individual trades in the netted trade in a manner consistent with the settlement message.

  • Publication number: 20030163875
Abstract: A process for patterning textile materials is described. The process involves applying a water soluble chemical substance designed to mechanically inhibit the wetting of underlying regions of the fabric to a textile fabric in a predetermined pattern, then dyeing the fabric in a manner conventionally used to uniformly dye fabrics, such as by a continuous or semi-continuous dye process. The chemical substance which has been applied to the fabric functions to temporarily mechanically inhibit wetting of the underlying regions of the fabric, so that the underlying portions are dyed to a lesser extent than the surrounding regions. The resulting fabrics have good print characteristics without the physical strength degradation of irregular hand associated with patterned fabrics produced by conventional fabric patterning methods.

  • Patent number: 6161325
Abstract: The present invention provides an artificial, bi-parabolic fish lure made from a flat, solid strip of sheet material of a uniform thickness having three segments that smoothly transition from one to the next. A relatively long, parabolic anterior section that makes up about three-fifths of the fish lure's length. Next is a circumvoluted middle section comprising about one-fifth of the total length and causes the lure to spin through the water like a propeller when pulled behind a fishing line. A relatively short, parabolic posterior section that also makes up about one-fifth of the total length. The fish lure has a center of gravity rearward of its longitudinal center. In a preferred embodiment, the fish lure is made of shiny metal and is stippled with numerous indentations resembling scales so that the fish lure closely resembles a minnow.

  • Patent number: 5727324
Abstract: A chalk box having a generally teardrop-shaped main body section and an arched neck section extending forwardly from the main body section. A reel containing a line is rotatably mounted within the case. The line exits the case through in aperture at the forward end of the neck section. The line exits through the aperture at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the case. The configuration of the case makes the chalk box of the present invention less awkward to use than prior art chalk boxes. Also, the case may be provided with a hook lying along the longitudinal axis of the case. When the line is engaged with the hook and the case is suspended at the end of the line, the chalk box functions as a plum bob.

  • Patent number: 5277705
Abstract: Device for separating and collecting ultrafine atomized powder from the gas stream of a gas atomizing apparatus comprises a housing having an interior wall oriented at an angle relative to horizontal so as to form a downwardly converging, conical expansion chamber, an inlet conduit communicated to the expansion chamber proximate an upper region thereof for receiving the gas stream, and an outlet proximate a lower region of the expansion chamber. The inlet conduit is oriented at a compound inclined angle (with respect to horizontal) selected to promote separation and collection of powder from the gas stream in the expansion chamber. The compound angle comprises a first entrance angle that is greater than the angle of repose of the powder on the housing interior wall such that any powder accumulation in the inlet conduit tends to flow down the wall toward the outlet.
