    Abstract: An expandable tubular to be used within geologic structures and a method of manufacturing thereof has a substantially tubular shaped member with an axis extending therethrough. The tubular member has one or more helical member formed within a wall of the tubular member, and the helical member may be defined about the axis of the tubular shaped member. Further, a plurality of elongated perforations are formed within the wall of tubular member, and the tubular member is compressible from a larger diameter to a smaller diameter. When compressed, the tubular member stores expansive energy within the wall, in which the tubular member may then expand back to a larger diameter when the expansive energy is released.

The leaves extend around a portion or fully around the diameter of the tubular structure. Some of the adjacent leaves of the tubular are coupled together. The tubular is compressed to a smaller diameter so that it can be inserted through previously deployed tubular assemblies. Once the tubular is properly positioned, it is deployed and coupled or not coupled to a previously deployed tubular assembly. The tubular is useful for all types of wells and boreholes.

    Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to an expandable tubular connection and a method for connecting expandable tubular members to each other. The expandable tubular member includes a plurality of curved leaves, in which each of the leaves has a concave inner surface and a convex outer surface. The leaves are then attached to each other using and through attachment points such that the leaves are formed about an axis of the expandable tubular member. Connection members are then disposed upon the plurality of leaves. Each of the connection members is disposed upon one or more leaves, in which the connection members may be disposed upon or towards an end of the leaves and/or may be disposed upon the inner and outer surfaces of the leaves. The connection members from one expandable tubular member are configured to engage the connection members of another expandable tubular member.

    Abstract: A well screen for placement within wells used to filter out impurities from the fluid entering the well. In the preferred embodiment, the well screen comprises a spirally-wound wire forming a cylinder with gaps between the layers of wire. The layers of wire are attached by spacers placed within the gaps. In an alternative embodiment, the well screen is formed from concentric rings, and in a third embodiment the well screen is formed from a cylindrical tubes that are machined to remove material to form horizontal gaps. In the first two embodiments, at least one spacer is integrally formed to the wire or a ring to minimize the amount of welding required to secure the spacers to adjacent rings or windings.

The layers of wire are attached by spacers placed within the gaps and on the surfaces of the wire such that the spacers do not extend radially beyond the inner and outer edges of the wire. The outer edge of the spacer can be flush or slightly recessed from the outer edge of the wire to create greater open area for which fluid can flow through. The inner edge of the spacer can also be flush or slightly recessed from the outer edge of the wire. In the alternate embodiment, the well screen comprises a plurality of rings stacked atop each other and connected together by spacers located at intervals around the circumference of the rings.
