The actuated valve adjusts the compaction in response to active control based on sensed feedback from the system.

Each solid feed guide of the plurality of solid feed guides is configured to direct solid feed within the curved passage towards the outlet, and each solid feed guide of the plurality of solid feed guides is disposed at a different respective circumferential location along the curved passage relative to a rotational axis of the rotor.
