Abstract: A communication method for embedding a meta-carrier under an original carrier signal with reduced or minimal original carrier signal degradation, the method comprising transmitting an original carrier signal and transmitting a meta-carrier signal separate from the original carrier signal, wherein the meta-carrier signal contains information about an original carrier signal, is extractable under an interfered condition, and is transmitted such that the meta-carrier signal occupies at least a portion of a bandwidth of the original carrier signal.

Abstract: A method of combining a GPS carrier signal and a communication carrier signal over a common coaxial connection, the method comprising receiving a GPS carrier signal into a signal system using an antenna, which system is configured to receive a non-GPS communication carrier signal from a communication system, processing the GPS carrier signal with the signal communication system to produce a modified GPS carrier signal, the processing comprising at least: filtering the modified GPS carrier signal using a filter, and amplifying the GPS carrier signal using an amplifier; filtering, using a filter, and power combining using a power combiner, the GPS carrier signal and the non-GPS communication carrier signal, and transmitting, using a single coaxial cable, the combined GPS carrier and non-GPS communication carrier signals to a communication device.

Abstract: A method of inserting meta-data into a physical layer framing structure of a Digital Video Broadcast Satellite-Generation 2 (DVB-S2) comprising encoding meta-data and an original carrier signal using an encoder, the original carrier signal having a pilot sequence, replacing, by a meta-data insertion device, at least a portion of the pilot sequence with at least a portion of the meta-data to form a meta-pilot carrier signal, modulating, using a modulator, the meta-pilot carrier signal to form a modulated meta-pilot carrier signal, and transmitting, using a transmitting device, the modulated meta-pilot carrier signal. Additionally, the meta-data may be inserted by a meta-data insertion device into at least a portion of the XFECFRAME structure when dummy-PL Frames are available when VCM and ACM operation is used.
