  • Patent number: 11808105
Abstract: A downhole tool includes a slips assembly, a cone positioned at least partially within the slips assembly, the cone being configured to move axially relative to the slips assembly such that the cone presses the slips assembly radially outward and into engagement with a surrounding tubular in which the downhole tool is deployed, and a seal ring positioned around the cone, the seal ring being configured to be pressed radially outward by engagement with the cone and into engagement with the surrounding tubular.

    Assignee: INNOVEX DOWNHOLE SOLUTIONS, INC.
    Inventors: Nick Tonti, Jeffery Kitzman
  • Patent number: 11761279
Abstract: An actuator for setting a downhole tool comprises a first propellant configured to be ignited by an igniter, and a second propellant configured to be ignited by combustion of the first propellant, the first propellant abutting the second propellant such that the first propellant covers an axial end of the second propellant. The first propellant is configured to combust more quickly than the second propellant.

  • Publication number: 20230205163
Abstract: A method includes scanning a thickness of a workpiece in at least one point using a thickness sensor, determining that the workpiece is out of alignment in a cutting machine using the thickness sensor, and realigning the workpiece relative to the cutting machine or adjusting a machining operation using a controller of the cutting machine in response to determining that the workpiece is out of alignment.

  • Patent number: 11643907
Abstract: A downhole valve includes a housing, and a sleeve positioned within the housing. The sleeve has a first axial end, a second axial end, and a seat positioned between the first and second ends. The sleeve defines an opening facing in a radial direction. The sleeve prevents fluid flow in an opposite radial direction, away from the opening. The valve also includes a retaining element coupled to or integral with the sleeve, and a first obstructing member positioned in the sleeve and movable between the seat and the retaining element. In a first position, the first obstructing member engages the seat and prevents fluid flow through the housing. In a second position, the first obstructing member is separated apart from the seat such that at least a portion of the opening is axially between the first obstructing member and the first obstructing member.

  • Patent number: 7861778
Abstract: A pressure orienting swivel arrangement includes a freely rotatable weight assembly to orient to gravity prior to being urged to a fixed position. In the fixed position, a pin adapter is reactably interengagable with the weight assembly to orient the pin adapter to the weight assembly without reorienting the weight assembly from gravity. A method for orienting a downhole tool is also included.
