  • Patent number: 10349635
Abstract: A freeze-resistant watering nipple assembly comprising a watering nipple valve, a heat pipe, a sleeve in tight thermal contact with the nipple, a water-tight connection to a liquid containing container or supply pipe, and an outer shield enclosing an insulating space and/or insulation material is described, which thermally couples a watering nipple to a container or supply pipe via a sufficiently good thermal conduction path so that the nipple can be maintained at a temperature that is near the temperature of the liquid in the container or supply pipe. Further, the use of one or more freeze-resistant watering nipple assemblies with a thermally insulated container is described so that the unit comprising the nipple assembly or assemblies and the insulated container provides drinking water to animals, and in particular, birds in sub-freezing and in hot weather.

  • Publication number: 20050225094
Abstract: A cabinet catch (10) consists of an integrally molded plastic clip (14) and bracket (12) for mounting to a portion of a cabinet structure. The clip (14) is manufactured from a first plastic material. The clip (14) is rotatable relative to the bracket (12) about an axis of rotation (20). The bracket (12) is formed from a second plastic material different from the first material. The first and second plastic materials are dissimilar to each other so they do not bond to each other. A method of manufacturing the cabinet catch (10) includes the steps of injection molding the clip (14) with a first plastic material and then injection molding the bracket (12) with a second plastic material different from the first plastic material so that the clip and the bracket (12) are integrally molded.

  • Patent number: 6784138
Abstract: A method for maximising critical current density (Jc) of high temperature superconducting cuprate materials (HTSC) which comprises controlling the doping state or hole concentration of the materials to be higher than the doping state or hole concentration of the material that provides a maximum superconducting transition temperature (Tc), and to lie at about a value where the normal-state pseudogap reduces to a minimum. Jc is maximised1 at hole concentration p≈0.19. HTSC compounds are also claimed.

  • Patent number: 5849671
Abstract: A method for forming a conductor element comprising a Tl or Hg-based high temperature superconductor (HTSC) material, comprises providing at least one first precursor material within an outer sheath for the conductor element; providing at least one second precursor material within the conductor sheath and separated from the first precursor material(s) by a barrier layer formed from a Noble metal for example between the first and second precursor materials; and heating the conductor sheath containing the precursors to a temperature at which the barrier layer melts to allow the precursor materials to mix and react, or to a temperature at which one of the precursor material(s) diffuses through the barrier layer sufficiently allow the precursor materials to mix and react, to form the Tl or Hg-HTSC material within the outer conductor sheath.
