Publication number: 20220018231Abstract: A method for determining conflicts in updates of a hydrocarbon control system includes obtaining a first configuration and a second configuration from different locations in the hydrocarbon control system. The method also includes comparing the first configuration and the second configuration to determine if differences are detected. If differences are detected, the method includes operating a display to notify a user that differences are detected, using conflict resolution techniques to automatically determine a resolved configuration, and updating a configuration of the hydrocarbon control system with the resolved configuration. If no differences are detected, the method includes operating the display to notify the user that no differences are detected and updating the configuration of the hydrocarbon control system with the first configuration or the second configuration.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 16, 2021Publication date: January 20, 2022Inventors: Norman Andrew Weatherhead, Edward Anthony Gray, Jeffery P. Patent number: 9946980Abstract: High-frequency data capture for diagnostics is provided. An example system collects device data at a high acquisition rate. The collected data can be diagnostic when a critical event occurs, but need not be stored permanently or transmitted to a remote server unless needed. In an implementation, the data is stored in a dynamic circular buffer and the resolution of the data is tapered in real-time to maintain a lean data size of the entire buffer contents. High-resolution is maintained for recent data, while a decreasing resolution is applied to aging data. A triggering event changes the system from transmitting low bandwidth status information to transmitting the entire leaned-down data record stored in the buffer. After the triggering event, the system can also transmit incoming diagnostic data to the remote server at a high data resolution, and then can taper the resolution of the data transmission over time.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2012Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: SCHLUMBERGER TECHNOLOGY CORPORATIONInventor: Jeffery P Anderson

Patent number: 6569265Abstract: A method of making electrical steel strip characterized by low core loss and high permeability in the rolling direction includes the steps of: hot rolling a slab of an electrical steel composition into a strip, hot band annealing in a temperature range effective to coarsen the grains sufficient to improve magnetic properties in a rolling direction of the strip, cold rolling, batch annealing in a temperature range effective to produce a batch annealed grain size of not greater than 40 &mgr;m and, preferably not greater than 20 &mgr;m, and temper rolling to provide the strip with a transfer surface roughness (Ra) of less than 49 &mgr;in. Electrical steel articles are manufactured from the steel strip upon final annealing. The electrical steel articles have a grain texture including a {110}<001> orientation and improved permeability in the rolling direction.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2000Date of Patent: May 27, 2003Assignee: International Steel Group Inc.Inventors: Jeffery P.
