  • Patent number: 11591976
Abstract: An example engine driven welder/generator system is disclosed that includes a turbo charged gasoline powered engine connected to an electric welder/generator. The welder/generator is configured to provide an output to an auxiliary welding system. The turbo charger system enhances operation of the gasoline engine by powering a turbine with engine exhaust to drive a compressor to increase intake of air, resulting in compressed air providing more powerful explosions in an engine combustion chamber once fuel is added and ignited. The resulting engine drives the welder/generator to provide a more consistent torque curve, while generating less noise per unit of power output in comparison to a diesel engine.

  • Publication number: 20230024527
Abstract: An example fluid container fill indicator system generates an alert in response to a change in pressure at the exhaust conduit or the fluid container. In some example, the change in pressure causes a reed or whistle type device to generate an audible alert. In some examples, the alert is a mechanical and/or electronic signal based on a change in position or orientation of a valve in response to the change in pressure.

  • Patent number: 11253942
Abstract: A welding-type power system that includes an engine and an electric generator driven by the engine. A power bus configured to connect a power output of the electric generator to one or more of a welding-type output, a power storage device, and a switched mode power supply. A plurality of sensors are configured to monitor a plurality of parameters associated with power demand to and from the power bus and generate a signal indicative of the power demand to and from the power bus based on the monitored plurality of parameters. A controller is configured to receive the signal from the plurality of sensors, the controller to control the engine speed in response to the signal or the power demand.

  • Publication number: 20220017029
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to power a crane on a work truck using an engine-powered service pack are disclosed. An example auxiliary power system for a vehicle includes an engine, a generator configured to convert mechanical energy from the engine to electrical energy, and power conversion circuitry configured to provide electrical power to a crane to enable the crane to lift at least a portion of a rated load, and configured to convert the electrical energy from the generator to output DC power.

  • Publication number: 20210268595
Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring and/or controlling a welding system using a remote device are disclosed. The remote device communicates, via one or more transceivers or communication circuits, with one or more component of the welding system (such as a welding power supply or auxiliary device) or a remote computing system (such as a personal computer, cloud computing resource, etc.). The remote device receives signals from the welding system, the signals containing data associated with diagnostic parameters of one or more of the components. The remote device then controls one or more transceivers to transmit signals containing the data to the remote computing system. There, the data may be analyzed, manipulated, and/or displayed. In some examples, software update data is provided to the remote device and transmitted to a welding system component associated with the particular software update.
