Abstract: Anchor for vest mounted assault weapon is disclosed which may be used for a body armor vest to provide a secure method of removably affixing the anchor. A conventional assault rifle may be removably affixed to the anchor. Once so affixed to the vest, the assault rifle is held firmly with the rear of the stock in an appropriate firing position. The anchor may also be used as a hands-free carrying device for the assault rifle.
