  • Publication number: 20180288111
Abstract: A technique for merging conference session dialogs allows presenting content and media streams from a non-Skype endpoint to a Skype multipoint control unit (MCU), so that they present a single caller in a conference with both media and content. A signaling adapter intercepts session dialogs and merges or other modifies. When adding the non-Skype endpoint, requests from a content server are dropped while requests from the MCU handling non-Skype media streams are forwarded to the Skype MCU. Responses to the request from the MCU are also forwarded to the content server. When creating subscription dialogs, requests from the content server are modified to appear as if they came from the MCU, while responses go back to the proper requester. Conference notifications are forked to go to both the content server and the MCU. Because Skype uses separate media and content dialogs, merging of audio/video and content dialogs may be omitted. By merging dialogs, user experience is improved.

  • Publication number: 20180288368
Abstract: A non-Skype multipoint control unit (MCU) is configured to operate differently for handling incoming streams from endpoints and outgoing streams from a Skype multipoint control unit. When passing incoming streams from non-Skype endpoints to a Skype conference, the non-Skype MCU acts as a gateway, passing the streams to Skype MCU as if they were coming from Skype endpoints. When receiving outgoing streams from Skype MCU, the non-Skype MCU acts as an MCU, transcoding, compositing, and scaling streams into continuous presence layouts for delivery to the non-Skype endpoints. Thus, non-Skype endpoints can participate in Skype conferences as if they were Skype endpoints, allowing a better user experience for both Skype endpoints and non-Skype endpoints.

  • Patent number: 9299120
Abstract: Implementations may relate to various aspects of modifying, or using, a coded bitstream, or to recovering watermarking information from data. In one implementation, a coded bitstream is modified to allow for the application of a watermark to the coded bitstream without changing the coding of any other syntax elements in the bitstream. This is performed by identifying conditions necessary to change a coded syntax element without disrupting the interpretation of subsequent coded elements. The coded syntax element is replaced with another coded value if the modified value generates the same decoding variables as the original value would have generated. Particular implementations focus on syntax elements coded using entropy coding, including, for example, Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (CABAC). Regardless of the type of coding or watermarking, various implementations may provide for recovering watermarking information.

  • Patent number: 9182181
Abstract: A condensation drain trap for a drain outlet of an air conditioner for draining of condensate waste water. The drain trap has a diaphragm divided by cuts into a plurality of sections to permit the diaphragm to deform, upon the air conditioner being first turned on and a negative pressure being generated inside the air conditioner, to allow passage of air, in a controlled fashion, through the drain trap and into the air conditioner. The diaphragm is designed to retain a column of waste water in the drain trap to balance the negative pressure inside the air conditioner, while the cuts are such that when the column of waste water exceeds a predetermined height or volume, the excess waste water drains out through the diaphragm to maintain the column of waste water at the predetermined height or volume.

  • Patent number: 9113231
Abstract: A method comprises accessing encoded video data; accessing a list of watermarks to the encoded video data; determining syntax elements for current blocks of video data and syntax elements of currents blocks with the watermarks; removing watermarks that cause visible artifacts based on differences in the syntax elements between the current blocks and current blocks with watermarks, thereby creating filtered list of acceptable watermarks. The method can further include determining coding variable ranges for the current block and current block with watermarks from the list; comparing the coding variable ranges for the current blocks and current blocks with watermarks from the list; and filtering out watermarks that yield coding variable ranges outside the coding variable ranges of the current blocks.

  • Publication number: 20150186949
Abstract: A system, machine-readable storage medium storing at least one program, and a computer-implemented method for providing targeted advertisements is provided. In one embodiment, a client device initiates a first game using a first game application and generates a fingerprint indicating user information accessible on the client device. The client device, based on determining the first game application has not been accessed for a predetermined amount of time, sends the fingerprint to a game server associated with the first game. The client device receives a targeted advertisement associated with a second game of the game server, the targeted advertisement being based on the fingerprint.

  • Patent number: 9042455
Abstract: A method comprises receiving original encoded video stream as one input, accessing encoded data divided into slices which are further divided into blocks, receiving the list of possible changes or watermarks as another input, accessing at least one block, decoding each slice, setting down each slice, extracting from the list those changes that apply to the at least one block, and constructing propagation maps from inter-prediction or intra-prediction using changes for the at least one block. The method can further comprise decoding luminance data using the propagation maps, comparing the luminance data to a fidelity threshold, and applying possible changes or watermarks to those not exceeding the fidelity threshold.

  • Patent number: 8995706
Abstract: A method and system of detecting colluders conducting a collusion attack including a minority-type collusion attack on a digital product includes the generation of codewords used as watermarks in the digital product. The inner code of the codewords is generated using permutations of rows in a Hadamard matrix and concatenating them together. A typical outer code of the codeword is the Reed Solomon code. An adaptive detector is able to accurately detect one of three or more colluders of a minority-type attack. Prior art schemes using an error correcting code-based watermarking mechanism with an inner code fail to detect colluders with a minority-type collusion attack which includes three colluders.

  • Patent number: 8948443
Abstract: A method comprises providing a change to apply to video; dividing video into blocks; creating propagation map which captures only specific changes to blocks that would be changed by the application of the change; evaluating the change based on a luminance criterion as being a perceptible change or an imperceptible change; for propagation maps of an imperceptible change, storing the propagation map to a list, wherein the propagation map is the principle data structure to be applied to the video. The propagation map can be created by using motion vector changes associated with the change.
