  • Patent number: 11371466
Abstract: A piston for an internal combustion engine includes a plurality of valve pockets formed in a piston rim, the valve pockets forming fluid flow paths through the piston rim. Each of the valve pockets includes a central step standing proud of a pocket floor to limit a fluid flow area through the pocket and slow combustion gas flow from a combustion bowl toward a cylinder liner and thereby reduce displacement of an engine oil film thereon.

  • Publication number: 20220106214
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and components for manufacturing substantially square glass containers and components and a method for forming parisons are disclosed. A plunger is extended into a mold which presses molten glass against the walls of the mold and against the extended plunger. Compressed air is applied through the neck of the parison to expand the parison outwardly against another mold and an end surface defined by a baffle. The neck ring provides retention features on the neck of the glass container and can include child-resistance features. Each of the molds, neck ring, and plunger produce substantially square glass containers having a substantially square neck.

  • Patent number: 11215089
Abstract: An engine head assembly includes a valve seat insert having a valve seating surface defining a center axis, and each of an inner peripheral surface and an outer peripheral surface extending circumferentially around the valve seat center axis. The outer peripheral surface includes an upper section interference-fitted with the engine head, and a lower section. A stiffness relief channel is formed by a relief cutout in the valve seat insert, and extends radially between the lower section of the outer peripheral surface and the engine head. • Publication number: 20210155982
Abstract: Systems and methods for spatial analysis of analytes include placing a sample on a substrate having fiducial markers and capture spots. Then, an image of the sample is acquired and sequence reads are obtained from the capture spots. Each capture probe plurality in a set of capture probe pluralities is (i) at a different capture spot, (ii) directly or indirectly associates with analytes from the sample and (iii) has a unique spatial barcode. The sequencing reads serve to detect the analytes. Sequencing reads include a spatial barcode of the corresponding capture probe plurality. Spatial barcodes localize reads to corresponding capture spots, thereby dividing them into subsets, each subset for a respective capture spot. Fiducial markers facilitate a composite representation comprising (i) the image aligned to the capture spots and (ii) a representation of each subset of sequence reads at respective positions within the image mapping to the corresponding capture spots.

  • Patent number: 11007007
Abstract: A catheter for ablating tissue is disclosed that has a self-centering multiray electrode assembly. The self-centering multiray electrode assembly may have a plurality of spines, each of which a preshaped, expanded configuration that curves to change an orientation of the spine from being directed towards the distal end of catheter body to being directed towards the proximal end of the catheter body. The ablation electrodes engage ostial tissue when a maximal outer diameter of the self-centering multiray electrode assembly is engaged with an inner diameter of a vessel. The compliance of each spine may vary along its length. When the self-centering multiray electrode assembly is engaged within a vessel, the ablation electrodes are brought into contact with tissue and may be used to form lesions in a circumferential path around the vessel.

  • Publication number: 20210097684
Abstract: A discrete attribute value dataset is obtained that is associated with a plurality of probe spots each assigned a different probe spot barcode. The dataset comprises spatial projections, each comprising images of a biological sample. Each image includes a corresponding plurality of discrete attribute values for the probe spots. Each such value is associated with a probe spot in the plurality of probes spots based on the probe spot barcodes. The dataset is clustered using the discrete attribute values, or dimension reduction components thereof, for a plurality of loci at each respective probe spot across the images of the projections thereby assigning each probe spot to a cluster in a plurality of clusters. Morphological patterns are identified from the spatial arrangement of the probe spots in the various clusters.

  • Publication number: 20210063533
Abstract: Systems and methods implemented in a vehicle involve obtaining elevation information and determining a change in elevation of the vehicle. A method includes determining that the change in elevation indicates an increase or a decrease in the elevation of the vehicle. The method also includes adjusting, for a radar system of the vehicle, a range of detection or a detection threshold that defines a minimum reflected energy required to declare a detection based on the determining that the change in elevation indicates the increase or the decrease in the elevation of the vehicle.
