  • Patent number: 11615083
Abstract: Storage level query processing may be implemented for processing database queries. Nodes that can access a database may perform parallel processing for at least a portion of a database query. An indication may be received that specifies parallel processing for the database query. The nodes can then be caused to perform the portion of the query as part of providing a result in response to the database query instead of a node, such as a query engine node, that received the database query.

  • Publication number: 20230091407
Abstract: A touch conductive facemask for touch screen devices includes a nonconductive facemask body comprising breathable material and having an inner surface facing a user when the facemask is worn and an outer surface facing away from the user. The facemask also includes a plurality of elastic straps coupled to the facemask body and configured to be placed around a head of the user. In addition, electrically conductive material such as conductive stitching or a conductive coating proximate a center portion of the facemask body passes from the inner surface to the outer surface of the facemask and is configured for bioelectricity from skin of the user that comes in contact with electrically conductive material on the inner surface to pass through to the outer surface to be sensed by a touch screen device.

  • Publication number: 20220229846
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for data processing are described. According to the techniques described herein, a device (e.g., an application server) may render a first graphical user interface including a first view of a first data record, the first view including a first field. The device may receive, via the first graphical user interface, a user input including a field-level comment for the first field. The first view further includes the field-level comment and a first field-level visual indicator indicating that the field-level comment is associated with the first field. The device may also render a second graphical user interface including a second view of a set of data records including the first data record. In some cases, the second view omits the first field and includes the field-level comment and a second record-level visual indicator indicating that the field-level comment is associated with the first data record.

  • Publication number: 20220224259
Abstract: A DC electric motor having a stator mounted to a substrate, the stator having a coil assembly having a magnetic core, a rotor mounted to the stator with permanent magnets distributed radially about the rotor, the permanent magnets extending beyond the magnetic core, and sensors mounted to the substrate adjacent the permanent magnets. During operation of the motor passage of the permanent magnets over the sensors produces a substantially sinusoidal signal of varying voltage substantially without noise and/or saturation, allowing an angular position of the rotor to be determined from the sinusoidal signals by utilizing a transformation matrix or piece-wise algorithm applied in substantially linear portions of the sinusoidal signals without requiring use of additional hardware encoder or position sensors and without requiring noise-reduction or filtering of the signal.

  • Publication number: 20220188340
Abstract: A database engine may track granularity levels for accessing a spatial index. Granularity levels of a spatial index may be evaluated to identify those granularity levels that identify data objects in a data set. An indication of the identified granularity levels may be stored as part of metadata for the data set. When a spatial query directed to the data set is received, the spatial index may be accessed at the identified granularity levels indicated in the metadata for the data set as part of processing the spatial query.

  • Patent number: 11223675
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for generating one or more hash data structures. The technique includes generating a hash data structure having entries that correspond to a plurality of content servers, and, for each file included in a first plurality of files, allocating the file to one or more content servers included in the plurality of content servers by comparing a hash value associated with the file to one or more entries included in the entries. The technique further includes comparing a network bandwidth utilization of a first content server to a network bandwidth utilization associated with one or more other content servers included in the plurality of content servers to generate a result, and modifying a first number of entries associated with the first content server and included in the entries based on the result to generate a biased hash data structure.

  • Patent number: 10719554
Abstract: A storage engine may selectively maintain a spatial index for accessing spatial data. A spatial query may be received and the portions of the spatial index to evaluate may be determined by replacing those portions associated with regions identified for the query that do not exist in the spatial index with portions that do exist in the spatial index and are associated with a region that includes the identified regions. When inserting spatial objects into the spatial index, a determination may be made whether to create a new portion in the index if none currently exist that match a spatial index value for a new spatial object or to modify the spatial index value of the spatial object to insert the spatial object into an existing portion of the spatial index.

  • Publication number: 20200024759
Abstract: Illustrative embodiments employ catholyte scrubbers to provide higher concentrations of ozone in ozonated water than was possible in prior art systems and methods. Moreover, some embodiments employ scrubbers to increase the efficiency of production of ozonated water by producing such higher concentrations of ozone in ozonated water using the same amount, or less, power than prior art systems and methods. Some embodiments employ scrubbers to enable production of water with higher concentrations of ozone, and/or ozonated water in which the concentration of ozone decays more slowly, as compared to prior art methods.

  • Publication number: 20190394546
Abstract: An acoustical screen that can be utilized in a variety of applications including as part of a projection screen to cover and hide the presence of an audio speaker. The acoustical screen is formed using multiple hole sizes, e.g., three or more hole diameters or outer dimensions if not round. These differently-sized holes are placed in pseudo-random positions so that there is no perceivable repeating pattern of hole placement in the acoustical screen. By avoiding an ordered grid of holes of a single diameter as in prior speaker grills, the new acoustical screen disguises the visible reflection pattern through non-uniformity. It also provides an improved acoustic transmission surface that allows sound with a greater variety of wavelengths to pass while reflecting a less pronounced echo. The acoustical screen will be in demand for use in entertainment venues using projection systems with speakers positioned behind a front projected screen.

  • Publication number: 20190260773
Abstract: Adware and viruses are examples of objects that may be embedded in a web page or linked to a web page. When such an object is detected to be associated with a web page loading on a browser, an analysis may be performed to determine a trust level for the object. The object is suppressed based on the trust level. A prompt is displayed to advise a user that the object has been suppressed, and to provide an opportunity to interactively accept or decline activation of an action for the object.

  • Patent number: 10254848
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for cross-platform data visualizations using common descriptions. Embodiments of the invention provide mechanisms for simplifying software development and enhanced code reliability. A user interface, along with interactive and dynamic characteristics, can be described (programmatically and/or declaratively) independently of any specific device platform. User interface qualities can be described using a generic scene graph structure with attached behaviors. The generic scene graph can then be used to drive the user interface on any number of different computing platforms using platform specific (e.g., rendering, gesture recognition, etc.) sub-systems. Platform specific sub-systems can vary based on technologies that are used by the platform specific sub-systems. For example, rendering sub-systems can vary based on the technology used to render graphical data, such as, for example, Open GL, XAML, Direct X, Quartz, etc.
