  • Patent number: 9070353
Abstract: The Advanced Pickup Switch is a lever-style switch that will allow any guitarist, with a minimal amount of technical skill, to alter the pickup wiring configuration of their electric guitar for altering the tonal choices available without the need to manually hard-wire each connection. The tonal alterations are effected via rotationally and axially displaceable multi-layer printed circuit board (PCB) discs that contain pre-determined tracings for specific pickup coil configurations. These are attached to the outboard sides of the switch with a single screw, thereby allowing for complex wiring alterations with the use of a screwdriver alone. The lateral movement of the switch and corresponding axial displacement of the PCB's allows for the expansion of the number of combinations without the use of a secondary switch. A robust two-pronged resilient detent arm cooperates with gearage for providing a switch with the tactile feedback that is familiar and comfortable to guitarists worldwide.

  • Publication number: 20140368227
Abstract: A test circuit within a semiconductor wafer that measures a cut-off frequency for a transistor device under test may include a radio frequency source, located within a region of the wafer, that generates a radio frequency signal. A biasing circuit, also located within the region, may provide a current bias setting to the transistor device under test. The biasing circuit receives the radio frequency signal and applies a buffered radio frequency signal to the transistor device under test. The biasing circuit generates a buffered output signal based on the transistor device under test generating a first output signal in response to receiving the applied buffered radio frequency signal. An rf power detector, within the region, receives the first output signal and the radio frequency signal, and generates an output voltage signal, wherein the cut-off frequency of the transistor device under test is determined from the generated output voltage signal.

  • Patent number: 8103938
Abstract: The quality of data stored in a memory system is assessed by different methods, and the memory system is operated according to the assessed quality. The data quality can be assessed during read operations. Subsequent use of an Error Correction Code can utilize the quality indications to detect and reconstruct the data with improved effectiveness. Alternatively, a statistics of data quality can be constructed and digital data values can be associated in a modified manner to prevent data corruption. In both cases the corrective actions can be implemented specifically on the poor quality data, according to suitably chosen schedules, and with improved effectiveness because of the knowledge provided by the quality indications. These methods can be especially useful in high-density memory systems constructed of multi-level storage memory cells.

  • Publication number: 20050107872
Abstract: A heart valve sewing prosthesis including an intrinsically conductive polymer. The invention includes annuloplasty rings and bands, and sewing rings or cuffs for prosthetic heart valves. Some annuloplasty rings and sewing rings include fabric that is coated with an intrinsically conductive polymer. The coating can be formed over individual filaments or fibers, or on the fabric surface as a surface layer. One intrinsically conductive polymer is polypyrrole. The intrinsically conductive polymer can be doped to facilitate the intrinsic conductivity. Some devices have a polypyrrole surface layer doped with dialkyl-napthalene sulfonate. The intrinsically conductive polymer can be deposited on a fabric using in-situ polymerization of monomeric or oligomeric species, together with a dopant. Animal studies using implanted annuloplasty rings having an intrinsically conductive polymer coating have demonstrated a substantial reduction in pannus formation and inflammatory response.

  • Patent number: 5943338
Abstract: An improvement to conventional ATM network paradigms involves the distribution of ATM switching functions across a large number of ATM switching units, each of which may typically provide a limited number of available ports, and by establishing multiple connections between the larger number of ATM switching units in a partially redundant "chained" configuration analogous to various ring type topologies. A plurality of "XNODES" each comprising a packet segmentation/reassembly circuit and an ATM switching circuit may be interconnected in various ways to form redundant ATM paths without the need to replicate large and expensive ATM switches.
