  • Patent number: 9138538
Abstract: A needle-free injector device comprising a latch having a safe position which disables the triggering of the device, and a ready position which restrains movement of a dispensing member but enables triggering and a triggered position which permits movement of the dispensing member is disclosed. An additional safety mechanism blocks the triggering of the device until removed. A cap is provided to maintain the sterility and stability of the drug formulation and is configured such that the cap removal is required prior to placing the device in a ready to trigger state.

  • Publication number: 20140221915
Abstract: A needle free injector system and a method for delivering a formulation using this system are disclosed. The method comprises actuating a needle free injector to pressurize a liquid formulation and force the formulation through an orifice in a skin puncture phase followed by injection of the formulation during a delivery phase. The skin puncture phase is defined by a pressure profile vs. time curve after actuation which has a main pressure peak with a maximum pressure. The delivery phase occurs at a lower pressure than the maximum pressure of the main peak pressure. The device may have one or more orifices and pressurizing the formulation during the puncture phase and delivery phase to extrude the formulation through each orifice is structured so as to improve characteristics of needle free delivery.

  • Publication number: 20140148485
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for treating un-met medical needs in migraine and related conditions such as cluster headache. Included are treatments that are both rapid onset and long acting, which include sustained release formulations, and combination products. Also included are treatments for multiple symptoms of migraine, especially headache and nausea and vomiting. Systems that are self contained, portable, prefilled, and simple to self administer at the onset of a migraine attack are disclosed, and preferably include a needle-free injector and a high viscosity formulation, to eliminate such issues as fear of self administration with needles, and needle stick and cross contamination.

  • Patent number: 7767930
Abstract: The invention provides a method of rapidly machining multiple, often similar or nearly identical, features using a LASER machining system. During LASER machining, light of a wavelength and intensity that will modify the workpiece to be machined is directed at the workpiece and interacts to produce the desired change. If several features are to be machined, the processing speed can be increased by operating on a multiplicity of features at once. In one embodiment of the invention, this is achieved by separating the LASER beam into multiple beams and machining the desired features simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20090007904
Abstract: A drug delivery device containing a sterile multi dose reservoir. Said sterile reservoir can be used with many types of delivery including injectors or aerosol drug delivery systems. Elevated pressure surrounding the reservoir is used during storage to ensure sterility is maintained. Mechanisms to prevent delivery in the case of potential compromise of sterility are disclosed. A device using the pressure to meter formulation from the reservoir is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080095718
Abstract: Methods are provided for increasing libido and/or treating erectile dysfunction in a man. The methods include the administration of a formulation testosterone alone, another fast-acting drug to treat erectile dysfunction or a combination of the testosterone and the other drug where at least one is delivered by aersolization. The formulation is preferably aerosolized and inhaled into a patient's lungs where particles of testosterone and/or the fast-acting erectile dysfunction drug deposits on lung tissue and then enter the patient's circulatory system.

  • Publication number: 20080085940
Abstract: Method for fabricating and inspecting small holes in a material are disclosed. The method includes directing light onto the material and through the holes formed in the material, and then collecting the light passing through the holes in the material onto a detector. The methods further include analyzing the light for properties of the holes, and modifying the process based these detected properties.

  • Publication number: 20080051700
Abstract: A dispensing device, such as a needle free injector, comprising a spring which provides an energy store, and a dispensing member movable to effect dispensing under the force of the spring, a latch having a first, safe position which disables triggering of the device, a second, ready to trigger position in which it restrains movement of the dispensing member but enables triggering, and a third, triggered position in which it permits such movement. A trigger is operable by the user for moving the latch from the second position to the third position. A safety mechanism, preferably in the form of an appropriately shaped slot in the dispensing member, is effective before triggering the device to prevent movement of the latch to the third position. An attachment is provided for moving the latch from the first, safe position to the second, ready to trigger position to enable triggering of the device.
