  • Publication number: 20040232550
Abstract: The present invention relates to electrically attaching a surface mount device to a mounting structure via their respective contact pads using an attach material, such as solder or conductive epoxy, which includes a filler material. In general, the filler material is relatively solid and granular shaped, wherein the diameter of the filler material controls a mounting distance between the surface mount device and the mounting structure. The filler allows a desired distance to be maintained during initial placement of the surface mount device and any subsequent reheating.

  • Publication number: 20040236189
Abstract: A bio-information monitoring system passively monitors a patient with a remote portable bio-information unit that takes various bio-information measurements at selected time intervals as well as at random times without patient intervention. The measurements are converted to digital signals which are transmitted from the bio-information unit to a modem when the bio-information unit is in proximity to the modem. The signals are stored in the modem and uploaded to a central monitoring network. Automatic alerts may be sent from the central monitoring network to a treatment provider. The treatment provider may also access the information through secured dedicated websites via the Internet.

  • Patent number: 6818138
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a slotted substrate includes forming a masking layer over a first surface of a substrate, and patterning and etching the masking layer to form a hole therethrough. The first layer is deposited over the masking layer and in the hole. The first layer is patterned and etched to form a plug in the hole. A second surface of the substrate that is opposite the first surface is continuously etched until a bottom surface of the plug is substantially exposed and a slot in the substrate is substantially formed.

  • Patent number: 6816602
Abstract: The invention is characterized in certain aspects by data processing architectures and methods of processing a mail piece having a destination address field through outgoing and incoming mail centers. An illustrative method includes receiving a mail piece at an outgoing mail center for transport to an incoming mail center and subsequent sorting and transport from the incoming mail center to an an addressee. The mail piece includes a destination address field that is divided into a first address portion and a second address portion. The first address portion is interpreted at the outgoing mail center and used to sort the mail piece for transport to the incoming mail center. The second address portion is eventually resolved and used by the incoming mail center to sort the mail piece for subsequent delivery to an addressee.
