The sump pump system of the present invention is preferably connected to the internet and possesses means for communicating over the internet. The sump pump system could comprise redundant, auxiliary, and emergency devices to guard against failure or miss operation of the components of the system. Additionally, the system could comprise failsafe routines to combat the risk of flooding.
