  • Patent number: 12126467
Abstract: Various embodiments provide for deep learning-based architectures and design methodologies for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver under the constraint of one-bit complex quantization. Single bit quantization greatly reduces complexity and power consumption in the receivers, but makes accurate channel estimation and data detection difficult. This is particularly true for OFDM waveforms, which have high peak-to average (signal power) ratio in the time domain and fragile subcarrier orthogonality in the frequency domain. The severe distortion for one-bit quantization typically results in an error floor even at moderately low signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) such as 5 dB. For channel estimation (using pilots), various embodiments use novel generative supervised deep neural networks (DNNs) that can be trained with a reasonable number of pilots. After channel estimation, a neural network-based receiver specifically, an autoencoder jointly learns a precoder and decoder for data symbol detection.

  • Publication number: 20240316310
Abstract: An extended reality (XR) neural perceptual feedback (NPF) system includes an XR system and a neural interface. The XR system presents a virtual environment to the user and monitors the user's interactions with the virtual environment. Based on the interaction with the virtual environment, the neural interface applies stimulation to the nervous system of the user. For example, a stimulation pattern may be selected based on the type of interaction, what type of virtual object the interaction was with, or combinations thereof. The stimulation may cause a percept in the user, allowing them to have perceptual feedback from interacting with the virtual environment. The neural interface may also be used to direct interactions within the virtual environment, for example using neural signal decoding to determine how to update the virtual environment.

  • Patent number: 11853717
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include systems and methods for accelerating processing based on sparsity for neural network hardware processors. An input manager determines a pair of non-zero values from a pair of data streams in a plurality of pairs of data streams and retrieve the pair of non-zero values from the pair of data streams. A multiplier performs a multiplication operation on the pair of non-zero values and generate a product of the pair of non-zero values. An accumulator manager receives the product of the pair of non-zero values from the multiplier and sends the product of the pair of non-zero values to a corresponding accumulator in a plurality of accumulators.

  • Patent number: 11798808
Abstract: A method of Atomic Precision Advanced Manufacturing (APAM) is provided, in which a substrate is doped from a dopant precursor gas. The method involves covering a surface of the substrate with a hard mask, selectively removing material from the hard mask such that selected areas of the substrate surface are laid bare, exposing the laid-bare areas to the dopant precursor gas, and heating the substrate so as to incorporate dopant from the dopant precursor gas into the substrate surface.

  • Publication number: 20230331262
Abstract: A maglev system includes a maglev vehicle that reciprocates between a levitated state and a non-levitated state. The vehicle includes a capsule supported by a first left wheel and a corresponding first right wheel when the vehicle is in the non-levitated state. The system further includes a track having a left rail and a right rail, each of the left and right rails having a plurality of plates arranged in series. Proximate ends of adjacent plates define a joint. Each rail provides a support surface that the first left and right wheels rollingly engage when the vehicle is in the non-levitated state. The joints of the left rail are offset in a longitudinal direction from the joints of the right rail.

  • Publication number: 20230109316
Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques directed at under-display sensor lamination. In aspects, an electronic device having a mechanical frame designed with a bucket architecture includes an under-display sensor attached to one or more layers of a display panel stack. Such an implementation enables attachment of the under-display sensor to a protective layer, as opposed to attachment of the sensor directly to a display panel, minimizing the risk of delamination, as well as reducing damage to the display panel if delamination occurs and rework is attempted. Further, such an implementation removes the need for a mid-frame architecture, resulting in a thinner and lighter electronic device.
