  • Patent number: 11690356
Abstract: A leash is formed with a body composed of an elastomeric material and is configured with several fixed-sized loops and an adjustable loop. The leash includes a buckle connected to one of the fixed-sized loops. The buckle is connected to one of the fixed-sized loops and is slidably engaged with the body so as to cause adjustments in the leash length as the buckle slides along the body responsive to manual forced applied by a user. The buckle is configured to remain at a fixed location on the body absent manual force being applied to slide the buckle along the body. The elastomeric material of the body adds to comfort and safety for using the leash with animal(s) attached to the leash, as well as for increasing secure positioning of the buckle on the body.

  • Publication number: 20210137532
Abstract: An improved type of tourniquet is disclosed herein. The tourniquet includes an elongated elastomeric body and potentially a buckle. The buckle is secured to the tourniquet via a looped portion formed by the elongated elastomeric body looping backwards onto itself. The looped portion passes through an opening of the buckle to secure the buckle to the tourniquet. The tourniquet also includes an integrated spike. The integrated spike comprises a base and a shaft. A width of the base is wider than a width of the shaft, and a length of the shaft is greater than three times a thickness of the elongated elastomeric body. The length of the shaft is sufficient to enable the spike to pass through the elongated elastomeric body at least three times. The base and a portion of the shaft can be embedded within the molded section.

  • Patent number: 9168044
Abstract: A cord assembly including an elongate cord extending between a first end in the form of at least one loop and an opposite free second end and a cleat fixedly attached to the looped end of the elongate cord. The cleat includes at least two recesses for receiving and securing the second end of the elongate cord during use, for example, as a tourniquet or to secure some other item. In use, the free end is passed through the loop so that the cord extends around the limb or other item to which it is being applied, and then the free end of the cord is locked into the cleat using the recesses.

  • Patent number: 8810463
Abstract: Pedestrian transportable antenna systems can include an antenna mount and an antenna for satellite based or other communication mounted on a top face of the antenna mount. A bottom face of the antenna mount may be attached to a bendable rigid rod that is sufficiently rigid to provide support for the mounted antenna such that a user can walk around with the antenna deployed while the bendable rigid rod of the antenna system is mounted to the user's back (e.g., mounting into a back portion of a vest or flak jacket). The bendable rigid rod is sufficiently rigid to support the antenna without allowing the rod to “flop” over under the load of the antenna. At the same time, the rod is sufficiently bendable so as to permit the system to be drawn closer into a user's body when the antenna is not deployed (e.g., while stepping into a vehicle).

  • Publication number: 20130237898
Abstract: The present invention extends to a wound treatment system and a method of using the wound treatment system to treat a flesh wound such as from a gunshot, knife, or shrapnel. The wound treatment system comprises an applicator that contains absorbent material, and a plunger. The applicator is configured to be inserted into a flesh wound to inject the absorbent material directly at the source of bleeding. In this manner, the absorbent material is less likely to become contaminated and can apply direct internal pressure to the source of bleeding to mitigate the risk of serious injury or death from blood loss.
