Abstract: The invention relates generally to physical security, and more particularly, but without limitation to systems and methods that simulate television operation, and thus occupancy, for the purpose of deterring intrusion into a building. Embodiments of the invention control a multi-color lighting device, such as a Light Emitting Diode (LED) array, in a way that simulates light that is output from an operational TV screen. In embodiments of the invention, the multi-color lighting device may also simulate light that is output from a table lamp or other white light source. An audio device may also be used in combination with, or in the alternative to, the multi-color lighting device.
