  • Publication number: 20230368973
Abstract: An apparatus for creating an electromagnetic coil, including: a platform for building the coil; a dispenser to dispense a wire via a nozzle; a wire feeder to feed the wire through the dispenser; a coating applicator to apply a bondable overcoat to the wire, such that when a section of the wire is laid adjacent to another section of the wire, the bondable overcoats of the respective sections bond to each other; one or more actuators to provide at least three degrees of freedom to the dispenser and/or the platform; and a processor to control the one or more actuators to move the dispenser and/or platform such that the wire is dispensed at a specified location relative to the platform; wherein the processor controls the one or more actuators based on a program stored in a memory, the program including instructions for laying the wire according to a predetermined pattern.

  • Patent number: 9097640
Abstract: The present invention provides a low cost imaged-based system for detecting, measuring and/or counting labeled features of biological samples, particularly blood specimens. In one aspect, the invention includes a system for imaging multiple features of a specimen that includes one or more light sources capable of successively generating illumination beams each having a distinct wavelength band and a plurality of differentially excitable labels capable of labeling a specimen comprising multiple features, such that each different feature is labeled with a different differentially excitable label.

  • Publication number: 20060087727
Abstract: A module, an attachment for a microscope, a microscope, an optical path, and a method which allow for the rapid exchange of an aperture and a spinning disk in a light path for the purpose of, for example, selectively photobleaching sections of a specimen, imaging of the specimen and confocal microscopy, are disclosed. An ability to introduce light to photobleach a section of a specimen without the need for a laser or a second illumination path in the optical system is achieved. The specimen and the area to be bleached are allowed to be viewed in a non damaging wavelength for registration purposes. Photobleaching light can be introduced to a specimen and the objective through the exact same light path as that used for imaging or confocal microscopy. The size, shape and position of the area that is to be bleached can be mechanically adjusted while viewing the specimen.
