Patent number: 10213816Abstract: A pipeline pig that can traverse dual- or multiple-diameter pipes or pipelines has collapsible and expandable sealing elements that support the pig, provide a sliding (dynamic) seal with the pipe wall, and maintain the necessary pressure for driving or cleaning as the elements collapse and expand. The sealing elements each have an internal cavity sized to house a first volume of a fluid and a reservoir sized to house a second volume of the fluid. The cavity and reservoir are arranged so that a portion of the volumes of the fluid can move between each. An accumulator maintains a pressure of the first and second volumes of the fluid so that regardless of the sealing element's current size, or whether the element is transitioning between sizes, the element can maintain a sliding seal engagement with the pipe wall and perform the primary function of driving or cleaning (or both).Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2015Date of Patent: February 26, 2019Assignee: TDW Delaware, Inc.Inventor: Jeffrey C. Hailey

Publication number: 20170246667Abstract: A flow assurance system and method includes procedures to query current valve states and determine the likely effect of new valve states on product flow when using an automated pig launcher. The system and method allows for modulating the mainline bypass valve, kicker valve, and isolation valve between fully opened and fully closed states; prevents flow blocking of the pipeline during this modulation; enables new and different, as well as a broader range of, pig launching options for an automatic pig launcher; and integrates with existing automatic pig launchers.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2017Publication date: August 31, 2017Inventors: Jeffrey C. Hailey, Lee R. Shouse, Jr., William C. Keenan, Troy D. Geren, Tarek Kandalaft

Patent number: 7595646Abstract: Electromagnetic compatibility of an information handling system and peripheral for achieving defined electromagnetic interference constraints is tested through a test adapter that interfaces with an external cable connecting the information handling system and peripheral. Signals from the external cable are passed through an isolation resistor and parallel capacitance to compensate for input capacitance of a signal tester. A common mode choke isolates a common mode component of the signal at the external cable. A noise generator applies a signal through the test adapter to the external cable to allow measurement of signals emitted from the peripheral due to injected noise.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2006Date of Patent: September 29, 2009Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Jeffrey C. Patent number: 7379308Abstract: EMI from an operating information handling system is managed by disposing a stirring device in the chassis of the information handling system to mechanically modulate the resonance of predetermined RF signals emitted from processing components within the chassis. For example, a cooling fan disposed in the chassis has a reflective surface formed on its blades so that rotation of the blades mechanically modulates the RF signals. The blades have a depth of at least one-quarter of the wavelength of the RF signal and are coated with a low resistance material, such as steel, aluminum, copper, carbon loaded plastic or a high dielectric ceramic. The fan rotates at the faster of the speed required to provide desired cooling or the speed desired to produce a desired average RF signal amplitude.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2006Date of Patent: May 27, 2008Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Jeffrey C.
