  • Patent number: 10726214
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention provide for storing a unique identifier for an RFID tag associated with, and affixed to, an asset. An RFID reader, coupled to a server computer through a network, executes firmware instructions causing the reader to receive a transmission from a server computer to run a customizable software with programmable logic at the reader. The reader then recognizes the tag according to its signal strength, and determines a tag state for the tag according to a state machine in the customizable software. If the tag state changes, the reader publishes the tag state and transmits it to the server computer using a low bandwidth solution.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 2018
Date of Patent: July 28, 2020
    Assignee: Brady Worldwide, Inc.
Inventors: Alex C. Rein, Gregg J. Haensgen, Jeffrey C. Krueger

  • Patent number: 5914666
Abstract: A communication system for power monitors and the like includes a plurality of communication nodes connected in series. A technique is provided for automatically detecting the status of the system, including the need to configure the communication nodes or identify the presence and location of a fault. Further, configuration of the nodes is automatically performed as required, and the location of faults is visually represented to assist an operator.
