  • Patent number: 6568548
Abstract: A plastic safety closure with a tamper-indicating band is described. The closure includes a tamper-indicating band depending from the skirt of the closure. The tamper indicating band includes a frangible portion with one or more openings therein. The openings may form an interrupted slot or a continuous slot. Each opening includes a lip projecting outwardly therefrom and another lip projecting inwardly therefrom. These lips provide greater contacting area at the inner surface of the opening, thereby facilitating the alignment of the lower portion of the tamper-indicating band as it is forced into position on a container fitment.

  • Patent number: 6105801
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a closure and container combination wherein the container has a collapsible neck finish. The collapsible neck finish consists of an upwardly extending neck having outwardly extending threads thereon and located above the threads is a spring bead, the spring bead having an outwardly bulged portion and an inwardly bulged portion. The closure for the combination has a retaining bead formed just below the top wall, the area in between receiving the spring bead of the container. The container and closure combination have interlocking structures comprised of locking lug and stop member on the container neck forming a recess therebetween which receives a locking tab on the lower periphery of the side wall of the closure. The interlocking structure is so formed that when the locking tab is located between the locking lug and stop member, the spring bead is firmly held in place below the top wall of the closure.

  • Patent number: 5988412
Abstract: A cap having a top wall and at least one circumferentially extending sidewall having an inner surface with internal threads therealong and a terminating bottom edge of the sidewall defining an open end opposite to the top wall. The terminating edge is provided with an inwardly extending locking lug for engaging with an outwardly extending tab on a threadable neck of a container. The cap may be of double wall construction with an outer wall and an inner wall spaced therefrom wherein the threadable connections for the neck of a container are on the inner surface of the inner wall and the locking lug is on the terminating edge of the outer wall. A window is also provided along the terminating edge of the outer wall, the window being in visible alignment with the locking tab.

  • Patent number: 5927527
Abstract: The present closure and container combination comprises a child resistant squeeze and turn closure having a tamper indicating band which is removed from the closure after the first removal of the closure from the container. The closure has dual squeeze pads located opposite one another on the outer wall of the closure. Formed at 90 degrees from the squeeze pads are two child resistant lugs which extend inwardly from the closure lower skirt wall. The child resistant lugs extend downwardly below the lowermost edge of the annular skirt of the closure. Frangible webs are positioned at 45 degrees from the external tabs and the squeeze pads and retain the tamper indicating band onto the closure side wall. A first and a second child resistant container lug contacts the closure lugs and are placed on the neck of the container above the tamper indicating bead. The child resistant feature of the closure needs to be overcome before the tamper indicating band is fractured from the closure.

  • Patent number: 5377873
Abstract: A twist-to-open dispensing closure has a cap which threads directly onto the container neck. A bead at the bottom of the cap skirt snaps over a flange on the container neck for primary retention of the cap on the container neck. An upwardly projecting lug on the cap bead cooperates with a pair of axially extending walls on the container flange to give the user, while unthreading the cap, a sense of approaching the open, dispensing position of the closure and the cap locks in this dispensing position against further rotation, preventing accidental removal of the cap by snapping the cap bead over the container neck flange.

  • Patent number: 5174460
Abstract: An adaptor and a closure are formed with precision surfaces as by injection molding so that the closure can be attached to the adaptor without the use of excessive force to create a secondary seal. The adaptor-closure can then be attached to an imprecisely formed threaded container such as an extrusion-blow molded bottle to create a primary seal. The adaptor is permanently retained on the container with securing by thread wedging, cooperating ratchet teeth or the like.

  • Patent number: 4835502
Abstract: A securing mounting arrangement is provided for a blowout magnet (16) and an electromagnetic relay (11) for increasing its capacity for switching larger values of voltage and current than possible without the arc extinction characteristic provided by the blowout magnet. In order to provide an electromagnetic relay suitable for applications subject to extreme vibration and shock, such as is type of automotive applications, the primary component of the mounting arrangement is integrally molded in the base (12) of the housing while the relay itself and the cover (13) of the housing all provide portions of a cavity wherein the magnet is contained.
